hey, check the power consumption to see if its 150 watts instead of 175, also check the Mfr. date (you can get a sales assistant to check this without opening the box by pulling out a cardboard tab by the place where the barcode scan-in is located) if it is anything after October 23, 2008 then it's a jasper, also if you're buying an arcade version it no longer comes with a memory card as jasper comes with increased internal memory (256 instead of 16) this stores the NXE dash. and saves, good luck and good on you for this kind gesture
