I want to know the Mini-Game that you cherish the most! :)

For me, it was mario party 2, A Day at the Races! It was so fun betting coins on that game!

As much as I like Brawl (personally an 8.9/10 in my opinion), it is disappointing when compared to Melee.

-Wi-Fi Gameplay is crap. I feel that most would agree with me on this: lag, long loading times, and the lack of communication. I might as well play Vs. Mode by myself. To those who say it doesn't matter: if some of the newest, prominent features feel tacked-on or half-assed, why not play the predecessor? The predecessor had few insignificant faults to begin with.
-Stage Creation is another rushed feature. First off, the backgrounds and pieces are dull and uninspired, and as a result will lead to boring stages when compared with the main stages in the game. Second, there's not enough variation in adjusting or positioning a piece.
-Subspace Emissary is really fun with two players. However, that doesn't stop the mode from being a basic beat-em-up with some ordinary platforming and a disjointed story (character development my ass).
-Stadium and Event Matches are underwhelming. The structure for most event matches is essentially a vs match with combatants left with two lives. Borrring. One reason why I don't like the new Break the Targets is that there's no personality: back on N64 and GameCube, I liked how each character had an individual map based on their abilities. Not to mention the Target music is obnoxious, as it is essentially a more happy and spirited version of the main theme (appropriate in theory, overdone in execution).
-Music somehow feels a step back after revisiting Melee. As varied as the music types are, some pieces lack an emotion or personality, common in MIDI music. Also, the voice acting is grating and annoying. However, some of the music included is truly beautiful (Main Theme, Mother 3, some reused pieces). Not to mention the sound effects pack a punch.
-Even though Brawl has some of the best graphics on the Wii even as of today, something doesn't feel right about the art direction. The slight use of realism somehow seems unsettling in a mostly fun and comical game. Examples include Mario not smiling and lack of cel-shading on Toon Link.
-Controls: Yes, I know Brawl will probably not work with too much motion but I feel this is the game to give the idea of "who cares about motion controls on the Wii?". Although it makes the multiplayer more accessible and less expensive (who wants to pay more for Wii Remotes?), the default controls of the Nunchuk method are lazy, which shows the creator's preference for last-gen controls. This mentality destroys the main purpose of the Wii: its innovative controls.

In short, Brawl lacks on the big, new features and relies mostly on the nostalgic elements of Nintendo. My opinion: a great Wii game, but disappointing.

One thing that dissappointed me alot was the characters / color schemes....sooo much potential...LOST !

looking at samus, great you can get the dark suit color scheme...but would it kill nintendo to make samus' suit look like the darksuit? how 'bout the light suit and myabe power suit as selectable schemes....see one character w/ multiple costumes...kind amakes it feel like more characters.

next, link, couldn't toon link be a skin, along with oni link (majora's mask), zora link, goron link, deku link? sure beats link dressed in diff colored tunics. And why pink link anyways?

captain falcon...the blood falcon scheme was a lil less detailed than melee...what gives?

marth coulda had a skin change to another fire emblem character.

pokemon trainer....why not give him a different pokemon set with different color scheme?

pokemon characters: howbout evolved versions?

and wtf w/ ganondorf's sword taunt....couldn't give him the sword?

Quite frankly when they announced the game and on their official smashbros site, they hinted at rich color schemes for characters....that turned out to be a letdown.

MisuK

EVERYTHING YOU JUST SAID IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED!!!!!
