@PosiTVEMinD355 I can understand that. If I still have time for and interest in VG when I'm older, I can see myself getting tired of all the grimdark and serious stuff and going back to the just plain fun, quirkier stuff nintendo games. A lot of nintendo's best games really nail the gameplay / replayability aspect. You''d never call Zelda Orcale of Seasons or Pokemon a "film like experience" or "super immersive", but they were, and are, immersive and timeless in their own way.
@PosiTVEMinD355 @Mausingen Some of my best VG childhood experiences were had on a Nintendo device (Gameboy colour), but since growing up my interest has turned primarily to the PC (and to a lesser extent, consoles) for video game entertainment.
I have no doubt that Nintendo is developing and publishing stellar stuff, but I always seem to look at them as the Pixar / Disney of the video game world. Every so often they release an RE4 and a Bayonetta, but that's not really the bulk of their offerings. I'm sure if I had children I would think differently.
I guess Mr. Walton has to rock the boat now that McShea is gone. At least he writes great tech articles. Don't have a Wii U and probably won't buy one, ever, but I hope to play this sometime.
Edit: Seems like most respected GJ sites are giving this huge scores, except Polygon, which just has to be the politically correct snowflake. Probably still won't buy a Wii U though.
