It's also competing with Mini Ninja's & Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box. While Mini Ninja's is a new franchise and not *that* widely anticipated, the Professor Layton fans have been rabid waiting for the second game to come stateside -- trust me, I'd know.

And just read through the archives on DSFanboy, the complaints and the begging for that game to come stateside are insane. Scribblenauts is going to do well, but I just don't think it can compete with the new Mario & Luigi game and Professor Layton.

So why believe Nintendo when they say the DSi is a "third pillar" and won't replace the DS Lite when they said the same thing about the DS/GBA?

hashabnelah

Did Nintendo discontinued production of the DS Lite and as a result it is now in short supply? That would be a sign that the DSi is to replace the DS Lite.

DS Lite units are still being sold in stores.

Actually, Nintendo is still releasing new colors of the DS Lite and it is still completely in production :) So you are most definitely right that it is not being replaced.

I can't say that I think this is a good indication of people because folks on XBL tend to range from the 13-30 age and are (for the most part), male. Now, not to be rude, but guys between the age of 13-25 tend to be much less consciencous of other peoples feelings, like to boost their own ego's by putting others down, and on general principal are pretty immature. So, my guess isn't that people in general are excessively racist, just that these guys want to make themselves feel better by making you feel bad, and are, on general principal, just immature jerks.

I don't want to sound offensive, but now that America has the first African-American president, and myself being a Republican who voted for McCain, there's really no excuse anymore for many African-Americans as well as other monorities, no whinning, b*tching and moaning about Reparations, Freebies and Free-handouts, and so-called "white man is keeping me down" non-sense.

Obama's victory = ANYBODY can be President (as long as you were born on US soil), regardless of race, religion, or gender. As long as you work hard, be an upstanding citizen in America, you can accomplish anything.

tbone29

His image is definitely a symbol of that, but there are still too many minorities being held down by prejudice and discrimination. That's not to say that they're completely innocent, but aren't given quite the same window, and Barack Obama being president doesn't mean that'll disappear overnight.

I couldn't have said it better myself.

Way too much praise and hope over a newbie president just because he is black. ( half black anyway. )

Videodogg

It's not because he's black, dear. It's because American citizens put aside differences and elected the right man for the job as opposed to sticking with the Republican war mongers who obviously have not done a very good job these last 8 years. It's because it shows a huge shift in America as we know it.

To be honest, the color of his skin has very little to do with why the rest of the world is rejoicing.

[QUOTE="JDWolfie"]He wants to pull out of Iraq and go into Afgahnistan or I'm pretty sure Pakistan to find Bin Laden. I think in my opinion, it's going to take more than just one/his term to get us back to where before. I think it's going to at least take a good 10 years to make up for this. Of course, Obama won because he got like 80% of black votes or something. I think this is a wake up call for America.NoSpeakyEnglish
Aw wtf! I thought he was just gonna end the whole war. Damn. I just hope the troops don't go around killing/torturing folks.

We can't just pull out of the whole war. He's aiming to end the war, quickly, but he's not just going to pull out. He can't. Now that we're there, pulling out in one swift move would just do so much more damage than it already has.

I'm not all that surprised the world is so excited. I was in England this summer when he won the Democratic nomintaion and everyone over there was so excited and so hopeful we would elect him President.

I can't say I blame them, either. I'm extremely excited and can't evne put into words how I feel right now.

I feel like I've got my hopes and dreams for my country back.

This was maybe the most sexist thing I've read all night. You think she'll like those games because you can be a girl?zeppelin_64

Yeaaah, I kinda was keeping my mouth shut about that one, but I have to agree a bit. However, I try to look at it this way: Sexism is sort of breed into our culture at large, and as a gamer, I'm used to taking a LOT Of BS because of my sex. So, when someone is unintentionally sexist, I try to cut them some slack. When you're used to hearing "Aww, honey, we'll go easy on you 'cause you're a lady" or "You're a girl, so we need to toughen you up" in Halo, someone thinking you'll enjoy Perfect Dark because the main character is female is really not that bad in the long run, lol (and for the record, I actually think PD looks like a pretty awesome game.

And besides, the gamer girl sites have some pretty good content, whether their aimed at chicks or dudes for that matter, so, meh, no harm, no foul :)

I'm looking for things more along the lines of RPGs & action adventure games

nethernova

It was already mentioned, but it can't be mentioned enough. Get Kameo. Seriously, go and buy it. Right now. It's a wonderful game. And when you got it, play co-op with me. I bought my 360 only a few weeks ago and nobody seems to be playing older games anymore. While you're at it also get Castle Crashers.

Haha, well, a friend of mine already told me if I can find it where he lost it in my cousin's truck, I can borrow it. So, I'm going spelunking in there sometime soon for it. Once I get it, I'll message you on GS and we'll get some co-op going, k? :)

That's another thing....if anyone wants to hang out with me, feel free to add me to friends, my gamercard's in my sig, dive on in, water's fine. If you wanna' make sure I'll add you, just sling me a message on here so I know it's not some kind of alien voodoo monkey adding me XD

Thanks for all of the suggestions guys, keep 'em coming!

As for games like Perfect Dark, Call of Duty, etc. These are all pretty big name titles that while I do think are enjoyable, again, are all along the same lines as muscle titles with a lot of FPS-ish themes and the like.

I'm looking for things more along the lines of RPGs & action adventure games, and games like Beautiful Katamari & Bomberman that are more light-hearted.

Thanks again, guys, and keep 'em coming!
