Hey Everyone,

I was thinking of getting Crusader Kings 2, along with some DLC when it hopefully goes on the Steam Autumn sale later this month. I was wondering what are the must have DLC to get for this game (My budget is $40 for DLC/ $10 for the actual game), and will getting these DLC make it incredibly harder for me to learn the actual game?

Much Appreciated!

@Grey_Eyed_Elf:

Ya, I have been looking into Diablo 3 and Torchlight 2. I find action rpgs interesting...Although, I really don't know how much substance games like these have when all you do is collect loot and more loot! haha. I don't know, it just seems like it would get repetitive after a while.

Hey Everyone,

I have $30 bucks in my steam wallet funds that is currently burning a whole in my virtual pocket. I have combed through Steam's search engine looking for a great game to add to my collection, but I just can't find one. I don't know if anyone else feels as if their is a video game drought on Steam right now, but I sure do.

I was thinking of purchasing Mass Effect 1 and 2 but I figure I would wait until it goes on a spotlight sale and get it bundled for $8 bucks. I also thought about getting Kerbal Space Program but after trying out the demo, I found that it was a tad too buggy on my PC, since it still is in early access.

Right now I am completely lost.

If anyone could do some shopping for me, looking for a game that is 30 bucks or less, that fits in either the RPG, Strategy, or Action genre that would be great! Personally, I am thinking about just saving up my cash and waiting for the Steam Winter Sale, since new titles will hopefully be released during that time.

Games I Already Own( No Particular Order).

@FelipeInside:

Ya, I tried to deactivate the Intel Chipset but it seems that it is vital for displaying my monitor (when I deactivated it, my screen went black, hard reset, wasn't pretty)...I know that their is a work around for Nvidia cards to force a selected GPU for a particular game but Radeon doesn't have any of those features. Shame. I cant believe Firaxis didn't put something in the in-game menu in order to change gpu's (like any Bethesda game).

Just to be clear I was running my game on Speed mode, high performance when I started the game but it still recognizes my Intel card...Its a weird bug. This has only happened on XCOM: EW. All of my other games work fine.

Hey Everyone, I got XCOM Enemy Within over the holidays and have been unable to play it since then. For some reason (maybe a bug) the game does not recognize the GPU that I want to play the game with. I have a dual GPU laptop, an Intel chipset for basic web surfing and slow power consumption, and I have a AMD Radeon 6470M GPU that I use for gaming. After installing the XCOM: EW, it does not recognize my Radeon GPU...How can I tell? Well, the frame rate I get is down right terrible. I was able to play XCOM: Enemy Unknown pretty flawlessly with my laptop at around 50fps but XCOM: Enemy Within just seems down right unplayable. I'm not sure if the developers are going to release a patch for this problem so I figured I would ask for some community support...haha.

I have noticed other people with the same problem here are some links:

If anyone knows a fix for this problem...Let me know! I have lost my faith in Firaxis for the first time...sad.

My Specs:

VAIO Laptop - VPCSC1AFM

Windows 7: 64bit

AMD RADEON 6470m 1gig

Ram: 4GB

CPU: Intel i5 Core Processor ~2.3GHZ

Thanx :)

For the sake of playing devils advocate, and to keep this forum thread alive, how is the replay ability of XCOM:Enemy Unknown? I have seen from other thread postings that the campaign is different each time you play it, is that true? Also, what was your overall play through time of playing XCOM, and whether or not you were compelled enough to play a second run through of the game?

The only downside that I find in XCOM, is the fact that there is no skirmish mode against the AI. I'm not a big fan of playing against other players in multiplayer. I never was, ever since I got into strategy gaming. On the upside, I did find out that XCOM is mod-able, which would definitely keep me coming back for more.

It seems that most of you have hit my indecision right on the head. While I do think that getting the Borderlands 2 Season Pass would be pretty awesome, I just dont feel like I have the drive to play through the entire game again. I guess I would coin that term as "gamer fatigue," haha. Kind of sucks that I have run out of gas playing Borderlands with the amount of extra DLC content that Gearbox is offering. Still I would love to hear from more of you to keep this debate going !

I need your advice! Send Your Friends To This Thread!

Hey Everyone,

I got some cash saved up to get a new video game, but Im not sure which to get. I was thinking of getting XCOM: Enemy Unknown, because I really want to get back into strategy gaming and it looks very unique from other strategy games I have played. My other option is getting the Borderlands 2 - Season Pass since I didnt get it on the initial release and the amount of content is freakin huge.

So after not being able to come to a conclusion on which game to get, I figured I would hand over the power to complete strangers who have probably already played both of these games. haha. If you want to vote please type the name of the game I should get and write a small summary as to why I should get that game over the other choice (i.e. replayability, more fun, etc.).

The game with the most votes by July 7th will be the game I will buy!

I have total faith in you guys (well, I might be a little concerned) !

Here's to Indecision !

Ya, I checked my laptop...No PCI slot :( But I forgot about my old vaio desktop (Sony Vaio VGC-LT23E) I bought about five years ago. Im pretty sure that it has a PCI Express Card Slot, but is it the right one for the DiY? Would be histerical if I could make that old computer run better than my current laptop. Also, would the VGC-LT23E be able to change out the processor to a i5 or i7 Quad Core Processor and maybe increase the ram?

Hey Everyone,

I know I will probably get alot of heat from the puriest desktop gaming community, but I was doing some research into trying to rig my laptop to be able to use desktop graphics cards. Sure, I know what your saying, "Whats the point of using a desktop graphics card on a laptop when you could just get the most badass gaming rig on the planet? right? My hands were tied and lets just say I wasnt the one flipping the bill for the computer and warrenty. Anyway, I came across a forum talking about this DiY VDock? Doing a little more research I have found that this is a pretty viable solution for laptop gamers. Even though its a bit bulky, and frankestein esque.

So my question is, would I be able to use this DiY VDock for my current laptop? Info below.

Sony Vaio VPCSC1AFM

Article I found about this DiY VDock
