@BrunoBRS As a european, I will say this, get it on sale. But the reviewer is right about each job being repetitive, crafting and mining play the same (didnt fish so cannot comment there), and each crafting job plays the EXACT same with each job playing the exact same minigame no matter what you craft. Said minigame being "Tap A as fast as you can, hold A for a certain ammount of time, and press A at the right time roughly twice". Despite my criticism of the repetitive nature of the crafting, I have to give them credit of how crafting is advanced, for the way you level up your crafting jobs is outmost brilliant, and doesnt feel like a grind. I wonder if Europeans and Brazilians can play online together. Because despite my cynicism, the game is moderately fun. It is just that I expected more from Level 5.
@freezysteezy @charizard1605 @lovedreamcast Scores dont start at 10 and then subtract for each flaw. They are based on the overall experience the reviewer had. The game's ups and downs were enough to justify it being an 8.
I knew it would score poorly, based on the first footage I saw of the game it already looked like a game that tried to combine RPG/Diablo elements with FPS without understanding what made those elements good in the first place.
@AzureBonds76 I dug up a grave, and my face was blown off by a massive explosion dealing over 10k damage to both source hunters. Needless to say, I laughed as I was met with the "The party has been killed" screen.
It is nice to see RPGs be designed around thinking before you act again. I am completely with Kevin on this. Subtle nuances like this makes this game so much more memorable.
@wieg9797 Probably because Thief 4 has been doing nothing but backpedalling for a while now and ESO is downright garbage with not even the NDA being able stop the terrible word of mouth from spreading around.
Good stories are a rare accurance, especially in the video game industry. However while graphics and sometimes even gameplay wane, a good story can shine bright even after hundreds of years have passed. Games like Uncharted, Mass Effect and Metal Gear all have poor stories. But when a story is good, all other flaws in a game can be redeemed simply because of the story.
