[QUOTE="hazelnutman"]Yeah, I would invest in a slim and start moving files. You're lucky that you've been given the chance to do so. I pray that my 60GB never dies on me, but if the time comes, I hope I'll have a chance to get a new PS3 ASAP and start a data transfer. I don't trust Sony to "repair" my PS3 when all they'll do is replace it with a refurbished model. Should back-up your save files... Once the PS3 gets YLoD usually you will not be able to get back in to retrieve your old files (unlike TC) and if you send it into Sony for repair, they always wipe the harddrive. So... once the PS3 is dead its dead... u wont be able to get the files back cuz PS3 harddrives are formatted differently from regular harddrives and therefore will not be recognized. Putting ur HDD into a friend's PS3 is also not recommended as their PS3 will want to wipe your harddrive right away. My 60gb died a couple weeks ago and i desperately tried to get my files with the above methods, but in the end there was no way of getting it back... =(
It doesn't say HDCP but it saysDual Input (VGA/DVI), HDMi.

U can use that one for sure since it has both DVI and HDMI, giving you 2 options of how u wish to connect ur ps3. Though HDMI would be the easiest way.
My 60gb got the YLoD last week and today I recieved the box to send it into Sony. I live in Canada and I was told that I would have to pay a fee to have the repairs taken care of, however; i was suppose to receive an email telling me my Service Request Number and payment amount, but I have yet to get that email. So I called Sony and got my Request Number and I looked at the instructions again and found that I need to attach a payment method to the paper with my PS3 since I am out of warrarnty. Instead of going through the hassel of calling Sony again or leaving my credit card information inside the box, how much is it to send in the PS3 (CDN dollars)?
Usually i try to finish 1 game at a time. Been pretty good about it lately, use to buy games without completing previous ones but i have changed me ways!
My dad is planning to buy a new TV on boxing day (Canada's black friday) but i doubt it'll be 3D enabled. Even if it were, my PS3 is hooked up to my comptuer monitor/speakers and im too lazy to move it =D
for sure, having trophies has added a replay value to the games that i buy. Especially the games that are single player only, where playing the game multiple times usually isnt that rewarding (to me) but having trophies makes it worth while in some respect
