@ukgamer51: Nope, it was the BLATANT ignorance of how trolling was going to be addressed.
Bethesda KNEW well in advance that trolling and griefing would be rampant.
But NOTHING was planned or in place when they announced this dumpster fire, nor was anything in place for weeks after launch.

This was NOTHING but a "Let's get some Fortnite $$$" move using recycled FO4 props and removing the NPCs.
The PLAYERS took that sad mess, and made it interesting in spots, but it's still just a bunch of treadworn FO4 materials made into MMO.
Lazy and exploitative on Bethesda's part. Gullible and thirsty on the customers'.

@lionheartssj1: I think that well publicized dumpster fire is part of the reason Rock* didn't wait too long to start making noises and giving out some moolah. They don't want to be on the same boat as Bethesda...

LOVE your rewrite!

@Tyler50314: Hubby and I both bought UE, don't regret it.
Once the bugs are worked out, the Red Chestnut Thoroughbred and the saddle, eagle trinket and other goodies are good mementos. And, we were the ELITE who were the first people to play RDO, so no. Not a waste of money at all.

6 Small Things I HATE About Red Dead Redemption 2

1. The Slow Animations - While Rockstar has been more than upfront on their desire to "slow the gaming experience down," they have put so many onerous "speed bumps" in the way, playing the game at times becomes borderline boring as hell.

You can't run in camp. You have to ride EVERYWHERE, unless you can pay to take a train or stagecoach, or you have upgraded your camp enough to enable "Fast Travel," which really isn't. Trips still take 45 seconds at best, you just don't have to press the 'x' button...

2. The Horrible Menu System - Rockstar has never been known for being the most helpful game maker, and RDR2 is no exception. The game's Help files are bare bones introductions/definitions at best, and provide little to no functional information, such as reprinting the Train your Horse instructions.

And, even though the Help files are not very helpful, they are at the top of the Options button menu...Instead of being at the bottom, as they are on almost every web page in existence, many of whom actually have Help files that help you...Likewise, saving the game, which can ONLY be activated in the menu, is muddled near the bottom, instead of at the top. It is almost like Rockstar deliberately does these odd menu changes JUST to aggravate and irritate the gamer...

3. The Weapons/Ammo system - I love that Rockstar provides different ammo, from regular, to explosive, to simple 'x' notched, which you do when crafting. What I don't love, and actually kinda hate, is Rockstar's insistence on your weapon ALWAYS defaulting back to Standard, regardless the ammo you specifically loaded into the weapon. Whatever ammo you last used in a weapon should be retained, just like what weapon you chose, what clothes you wear, or which horse you ride. It's not that hard to extend this to what ammo you load out.

4. The lack of visual Karma - Yes, you greet people. Yes, you put money in the Camp coffers. Yes, you help strangers you meet, from sucking out snake venom, to lifting dead horses off them and then giving them a ride into town. And, for doing these good deeds, you gain "good Karma," signified by a white cowboy hat with a +1. And conversely, when you rob, kill, assault, etc., you get "bad Karma." But nowhere does Rockstar show you just how "good" or "bad" your Karma is. At best, you get a "Positive" or "Negative" Karma notation under your Player Stats. The ONLY time you get any indication is when you interact in mini-scenes, such as the dead horse rescue. Then you see a bar for a moment that will show your place between good an evil...If I want to be a saint, or the worst outlaw in the game, it would help to be able to pull up that benchmark bar.

5. The nonfunctional Plant Compendium. The game even boasts that you can see the plants you have found, along with corresponding information and MAPS where they can be found. Nuh-uh. Even Arthur's Journal doesn't do much to tell you where plants can be found, except for his poor, unlabeled drawings...A flat out lie on Rockstar's part.

6. Saved outfits on your Horse - You can't name outfits, so anytime you change clothes, it is a hassle. To be able to name outfits other than "custom outfit 3" would simply make the game a bit easier to navigate, and more enjoyable.

7. Custom Crafting Items. - Since they all take either 'pure' or 'legendary,' items, this won't be high on my RDR2 bucket list, but nevertheless, there SHOULD be a simple chart in your (worthless) Help files telling you the requirements for EVERY modifiable item, instead of you having to go item by item through them with the cook or trapper. Small things, but important.

It is highly reminiscent of the Katamari Damacy series, with an ever-growing hole swallowing the world around it, rather than the ever-growing sticky ball rolling over and picking up the world.

It looks like it will be fun and challenging. I hope they have a good soundtrack, which was one of the things that made the Katamari series so popular.

Please, oh PLEASE, OH PLEASE, let Rockstar give us OPEN WORLD.

If you've played GTAV, you KNOW what I mean. Can you IMAGINE going online into a friends only session, riding around on horses? RDR was beloved by many for the ability to roam the world. Now add the ability to roam it with friends in real time!

#RDR2OPENWORLD

@Barighm: The inability to team up with more than one person if you are a gaming couple.
