One thing I can say about this game without playing it, I am turned off by the character design. I really enjoyed Simon's design from the arranged version of Castlevania Chronicles.
Hmm. I was incredibly anticipating this title, but given how my tastes and Kevin's are so similar I don't think this game will be worth my money anymore.
The score fits well. After spending around 20 hours with Diablo 3, I can honestly say I'm not compelled to go back for more. The time I spent with the game was incredible, indeed it was. But the loot that draws so many people in feels limited compared to what Diablo 2 was. I know I should not be trying to compare the games, but after pouring so much heart and soul into Diablo 2 I can't help myself. The boss fights while epic in presentation, are laughable, taking any tension out of the encounter. It is incredibly easy to make your character a powerhouse capable of solo'ing the entire game, with relatively little time invested. I'll see how my feelings change over the next 20 hours or so (being a Diablo fanatic, the show must go on) but honestly this isn't the game I was expecting. An incredible title to be sure, but it's leaving me wanting something more, something that I'm not going to find within the game itself.
