I was registering my 3DS as well as a few DS games I hadn't registered yet and all was going fine, but upon trying to register another game (after I'd registered six fine) the page just seems to refresh when I click "next". No message to say if the code's invalid or already been used, it just refreshes. I bought Ocarina Of Time 3D today and went on their site to try and register it and the same thing happens, it just refreshes... I've tried multiple browsers on multiple PCs with different unused codes, the same thing happens.

Anyone know what the problem is?

I do have an express card slot then, the 34mm one. I'll try and borrow and express card from someone if possible to test if it works.

You have no idea then if the Radeom HD 5870 will work in a Vidock 4 plus or if I was to get both that I will definately be able to play games on my laptop (provided the graphics card does indeed work). My concern is that it won't work because my CPU will remain untouched?, or is that irrelevant?

ViDock 4 Plus supports 225 watts video cards. The reason why I selected DIY ViDock is due to the risk with broken ExpressCard implementation.

Buying ViDock 4 plus is like buying a new barebone desktop PC.

Ok, thanks alot. Radeon HD 5870 will work. Now to test my express card slot. You've been very helpful, thankyou!

It doesn't matter that my CPU will remain unchanged?

Yes, it is a VGN-NS10L. Thanks for the heads up.

You seem to be a very intelligent person who knows alot more then anyone else I've asked on this subject.

I don't know if my laptop has an express card slot of not, I wouldn't know what to look for. My laptop's had no upgrades since purchase.

The only input socket I've got on my laptop that I don't know about has a flap cover and measures 1.5 inches x .2 inches. Would that be it?,if so I'm considering buying the XFX Radeon HD 5870 graphics card at £170 (will Vidock 4 plus support it, if not can you make a suggestion?) and a Vidock 4 plus at £189 (I assume via Paypal I can pay in pounds and it'll convert it?).

I have an HDMI cable I assume will plug into the Vidock4 and then into my HD 32" Toshiba RegzA to allow me to play games off it?

Is that everything I need to play games on my PC?

Thanks, but I'm not knowlegable enough compared to DIY ViDOCK's TC i.e. refer to http://forum.notebookreview.com/gaming-software-graphics-cards/418851-diy-vidock-experiences.html

According to http://www.pcwb.co.uk/catalogue/item/SONB0293Your Sony Vaio VGN-NS10L laptop has an ExpressCard slot.

----

The potential complication is that some laptops has a broken ExpressCard implementation.

During my DIY ViDock exploration, I use a cheap/freebee PCI-Express Graphics Card before I spend $$.

----

I can only tell you my experience with Sony Vaio VGN-FW45 and Dell Studio XPS 1645 laptops. ASUS G1S, ASUS GS1N and ASUS N80-VN laptops has broken ExpressCard implementation i.e. needs workaround e.g. PCI address space defrag.

---

I don't know how close is your Sony VGN-NS10L with Sony VGN-NS110e. You may needto contact Sony VGN-NS110e + DIY ViDock owner in http://forum.notebookreview.com/gaming-software-graphics-cards/418851-diy-vidock-experiences.html

Compare your laptop's PCIdevice address mappings with Sony VGN-NS110e. For any external graphic card to work, it needs 256MB continuous address space.

I'm not going to lie, I'm pretty clueless when it comes to upgrading graphics cards and CPU speed on a PC,in particular on a laptop; I don't even know how feasible it is. I'd ideally like to play PC games on it (so almost all games would run well on medium settings, including Crysis 2 if possible) but I'd like suggestions as to what I should do. As far as upgrades go make suggestions and comment or if necessary suggest a gaming laptop (preferably not too expensive £400-£700 if possible).

Here are my current Sony Vaio laptop specs:

CPU: Intel (R) Pentium (R) dual CPU T3200 @ 2.00 ghz

CPU speed: 2.00 ghz

RAM: 2.9 GB

Video card: Mobile Intel (R) 4 series Express Chipset Family

Direct x version: 11.0

Sound card: Realtek High Definition Audio

DVD ROM: Optiarc DVD RW AD-7560S

OS: Vista Home edition 32-bit

What's your laptop model?

My laptop is a Sony Vaio PCG-7144M.

I'm unfamiliar with how the ViDock works, can you explain? (as I said earlier I'm pretty "clueless"), I assume when you plug it in it uses the graphics card I put in it?; also how does it connest to your laptop, what port/socket do I need?. If I used this system would I need to make any further changes? On canyourunit.com the area I always fail are CPU and video card. Surely if I just put a decent graphics card in the ViDock I'd still need to upgrade my CPU?

If you can tell me in black and White everything I'd need and what I need to do to run Crysis 2 on medium settings or higher (I know I could run any game then) I'd be grateful because then I know for certain what I'm doing is correct and that it'll it will work.

P.S: I cannot find the Vidock4 plus for sale in GBP.Only the Vidock 2 on amazon and ebay.co.uk

Crysis 2 even on consoles is looking more then nice but as far as the PS3 goes I cannot see it topping Killzone 3. Crysis 2 will probably be the best looking game ever (on PC) and will also probably be the Xbox 360s best looking game too based on the screenshots I've seen. All I can say is imagine if Killzone ever found its way onto a PC.

Back on subject, Resistance 3 is looking good; a huge improvement on the past two titles. It's not on the same level as Killzone and Crysis but it's not far behind.

On a side note, I've always felt Uncharted 2s visuals are overhyped and overrated; I never thought Uncharted 2 looked better then God Of War 3 let alone Killzone 3. The current gameplay movies for Uncharted 3 put it around the same level as Uncharted 2 so far, if there has been an improvement it's minuscule at the moment.

Ok, I had a feeling that's what it would be. Any suggestions for a decent gaming laptop without a really hefty price tag. In GBP (£) preferably.

blaznwiipspman1

Gaming laptop without a hefty price tag is very hard to find, to be a honest i have no idea on what to advice you with, im not familiar with how the price is where you live. What i can do is giving a recommendation of the specifications it should have. A dualcore or a quadcore, prefferably with a clock over 2.5Ghz. (note that some have a lower base clock but use a "turbo" mode to raise the clocks in extreme situations) A graphic like the HD5730 or better, an exelent place to find out about the specific laptop you want is notebookcheck.com, they have very detailed reviews over just about any graphic ever put (and a cuple not exsisting yet!) in a laptop.

yep ^^ plus if you're serious about gaming then get a desktop.

I live in the UK, so prices will be in pounds (£). Ideally in between £400-£700. I'd do the research myself if I understood the graphics cards information properly. I couldn't tell you what's better or worse then "HD5730". Probably sound really thick but I really don't know.

I would get a desktop but I'd like something I can take during the week whilst I stay in a flat for lessons I have nearby and bring back home on the weekends.
