I saw this cartoon back in the day. It was silly and awful. Why don't they bring back the other cartoon that was on at the same time and was actually good? The one that had all the characters from the comics in it.

I know this wasn't the intended message, but up until the last 1 or 2 paragraphs, I felt like this article was telling me that, for most of my life, I've been playing the wrong games. I am a male who loves Metroid, Mega Man and old-school Zelda, which sound closer to what this article describes as "feminine games" than "masculine games", yet I always believed that I was the target audience for those games. Does this mean I'm not "masculine" in the eyes of other gamers?

While I do plan to keep on playing and loving the same types of games I always have, regardless of anyone else's opinions, I'm just curious as to what this makes other people think of me. I've never really had any IRL friends that I talked about games with (except for 1 particular game), so I don't really know.

Metroid was never meant to be a horror series. It's supposed to be immersive and provide feelings of isolation, but not horror. The reason is because of the character you play. The greatest bounty hunter in the galaxy, wearing the most powerful piece of war technology ever made, will always be able to handle any situation that comes at her, provided you find the right items first. That knowledge is what makes the games fun. I don't play horror games. If it's actually scary, it's not fun. If Metroid was a horror series, I would never touch it, and I wouldn't consider it a good series at all. As it is, it's the single best game series ever made.

@shadowwarrior4: 1: Notice the convenient shape of the cloud: a perfect disc.

2: Look at the lights in the valley. You can't see any 3D structures that they're on. It's all flat.

3: Alien spaceships hide themselves in clouds. It's a trope. Don't you remember Close Encounters and Independence Day?

That doesn't look like a town under the cloud to me. It looks more like a small lake, and in the water is the reflection of the lights of the actual alien spaceship, of which the cloud is basically a cloaking device.

That last thing, the big, checkered ball, was in Sonic 1. It was the wrecking ball that Robotnik attacked you with. This is the most obvious thing in the world. Why did the people at GameSpot not notice this?

Did you forget about the Illusion company? They already did that. I don't see them cashing in all that much. The fact is, this is all sad and ridiculous. Graphics and realism in games are good, but it will always be the gameplay and the overall experience that determines how good a game is, or at least it should always be.
