Dude, he got canned. It's as official as it's gonna get, and for a level 30, you'd think you'd have read a couple of the staff blogs. The situation is jacked up.

I'm not the slightest bit sad to lose vibration. Here are my reasons:

1. Extended internal battery life

2. Tilt feature will make games far more realistic and interactive. (Resistance:FoM utilizes it, in the sense that when an enemy grapples you, you physically shake the controller to get the beast off. Instead of the controller vibrating which you don't even notice because you are jamming every button to get the thing off of you)

3. Lighter controller, making it less physically exhausting to move the controller about.

It feel like it will just make the controller more of an extension of my own hand. Not to the degree of the Wii, but excellent none the less.

You think you won't miss vibration 'til you play a game that doesn't use it that normally would. Try playing an FPS like Unreal Championship 2 without rumble. It would suck. The end of the reload sequence for the Insta-gib rifle is signaled by a small vibration in your controller, giving you split second advantage once you get it down. That's just one example. Rumble will be missed. Is it a deal-breaker. Not by far. Is it still significant? To me, yes.
