@ashishuke I agree, a game must be set to the max of the console. If not it is just a cheap port and they are just cutting corners. I expected Ubi to go soft on its customers sooner or later. any console deserves the maximum, doesn't matter which one it is!

@madgame23 is is also extremely linear! once you have cleaned the first island there is no reason to look back, they could have been creative and let the powers (light and video) be cause to do additional cleaning on the first island. what starts great looks like a dropped ball in the end.

I actually did not like the list (it was not that bad). Infamous was below the line in my view and lacked several things, but it was graphically really nice. The two games I missed were Diablo 3, which is an amazing result. The game is such a jump forward from the 360, that I was happy to start from scratch! The second game is Minecraft PS4. It is smoother and faster then the PS3 and more important 30 times larger. Minecraft is one of these truly addictive games. Last is 'Last of Us'. I did not get it as I have the PS3 edition, but the sound is a lot better. These three games are worth getting a PS4 for (the last of us only if you didn't have it).

Replaying it from scratch on PS4. I consider Diablo to be close to the most perfect game ever (not just for the loot). The challenges are great, the hardcore is awesome and adrenaline pumping at times. Getting the equipment sets is always cool to get. the randomness of location gives reason to replay, the randomness of champions gives the jolt of gaming we need and I did mention the loot? I have loved the gaame ever since the very first one on PC. the 360 taught me how much fun co-op can truly be.

I will love new games when the good games come, but I will always at times get back to Diablo every now and then, even when all the challenges have been met (with a regular tour through Minecraft to cleanse the pallet).

It seems that Sunset Overdrive is placing the XB1 on the map for the PS4 gamers and the current non-gamers

Yes, there is over marketing, but as said, that is to be expected with the AAA games. However, this article also misses one issue that is linked to this, which is illuminated by Minecraft. Gaming has an off-set. I see it as freedom versus story. Minecraft does not have any story, but it counters this with an amazing amount of freedom. as freedom moves away (like towards a call of duty), the story becomes more and more important. Some get it right (Mass effect series and the last of us), many get it decent (Far Cry & tomb raider) and some lose out a little (Call of Duty and Halo). against this are the open games like Oblivion, Fallout, Skyrim, where there is a decent story, yet the openness of the game makes a massive impact.

There are a few that lose massive points, because they got the story kind of right, but then the game-play, linearity and the lack of insight suddenly made what could be a massive hit, and they turned it mediocre like the games Thief and Second Son (infamous3).

Second Son is the strongest in that regard. It was over-hyped, over marketed, it starts really nice, then the designer gets sloppy. Evidence? Consider that you cleaned the first Island, at some point you get the 3rd power (video), in stead of reopening the first island, adding additional challenges and added missions, maximising the power of video, you continue on the linear path to the conclusion of the game. In addition, instead of actually giving added powers to the concrete power, cleaning the city or removing the concrete power out of the soldiers, the game pretty much ends and the concrete power becomes kind of 'lame'

It is that lack that is also killing the wonder in games and gaming. It is a sloppy side.

I mentioned Halo and Call of Duty. These games survive on the challenge of multi-player and that is fine, but I think that these gamers could get a boost of gaming if the story was something you could get through, or even explore a little, in stead of run through to the end. Perhaps that is not what they want, which is fair enough, but the reception that Far Cry 3 got (including from me), gives a little strength to the view I personally have. I admit that not all gamers will agree here.

Sunset overdrive was the best one, it actually made me consider getting a XB1 for, something I refused until that trailer. Insomniac rocks!

Jess,

Ian McKellen scares you? You poor bunny you!

As for the list of 5. I cannot add the illusive man (ME2/ME3) as he is not that crazy (insanely genius perhaps), however Saren (ME) does fit the bill and was quite the chase until the very end of the first game.
