Agree 100%. I am sure the people who created the game don't care, but they did lose a sale. I deleted STEAM from my HD. The two games I own requiring STEAM are now deemed useless. There are enough people in this country with access to my PC. When I can't play games any longer without STEAMs help. Then I need to find a new hobby. Fortunately I have a collection of games on console and PC with no STEAM requirment. I was looking forward to playing "Shadowrun Returns." Today I view this as money saved.

Hi, D3 may be wondeful or not, but Blizzard is smart. They know there are people playing games that will HAVE TO HAVE & PLAY Diablo3. Those of us who have played D, D2 and don't want to be online. Thus, we don't play. No big loss for Blizz they are making money hand over fist. The happy D3 players out number the dissatisfied 4 to 1 or maybe I am being conservative in my estimate, Complaining about Diablo 3 is a waste of time. Simply don't play. For the record it's only a game and in the travels of life it is so unimportant. Well, you get my drift. I do believe Blizzard is running somewhat of a scam with this auction house gimmick, but it's their baby. Customers don't purchase a product then things happen. In this case. Not enough people stayed away to make a difference. In Blizzards situation they don't really care pro or con as they head to the bank and unfortunately or forutunately for them that is the name of the game. Money.

Seems to me per an article I read. PC sales have trumped console sales since 2009. However, there has been a change in the predicted numbers for 2012 with console games selling better and the numbers are expected to continue into Xmas 2012. The biggest issue I believe affects all PC gamers is when a new title is about to be released. What is the first question asked? Will the game run on my rig. I purchased a very high end PC from Falcon NW 9 years ago and with a couple of addon replacments I have been able to play anything I wanted for years. Nevertheless, I will not or will I ever play a game online and this stand does not bother me. Other gamers it would most certainly. Personally I feel online gaming is the biggest rip off since Brinks, but to each his own. Therefore, I also own a PS3. I played DA ultimate edition on PC and PS3. I found the game had pros and cons on both systems. In my opinion games are made for the console or PC. Tis the nature of the biz. I find game play for Skyrim easier on the PS3, but thats me. Again referring back to Diablo 3 an example of the real crux of the problem. You HAVE TO PLAY ONLINE and this befuddles me? Why do gamers get so angry about the online game only play? I played both earlier Diablos and decided I won't be buying this one. It's that simple. Gaming in the last few years is moving away from the fun factor. Into addiction for some. Well almost. I digress to play D3 a good high end machine is recommended. Again the age old question. Will my PC run this sucker. If not? Possiblity of an upgrade or a new computer? Consoles are good because if it says PS3 on the box. NO worries. Buy a new PC game and first thing we have to refer to system requirements. Consoles are cheaper in the long run. Are they better? No, but they have a more consistent shelf life. A high end PC will always out perform a console, but with a console you get what you pay for and system requirements are never an issue. Then again. To each or her own.

shiftfallout,

I like your rather through response. I played Diablo 1 & 2 and thought they were very good games. From what I have viewed D3 looks excellent, but I won't purchase the game because I don't do online gaming. It's that simple. I believe if most of the negative feed back was evaluated truthfully we would find the online requirement is the crux of most negative comments. The rest is just frustration. Again, I enjoyed your lengthy educational response.

Hey rasputin177,

Thank you so much for your comments regarding Dragon's Dogma. I was torn about purchasing the game before I read your words. Went and bought the game today. Thank goodness, unlike Diablo 3 we can play DD and not have to be online. Diablo 1 & 2 I enjoyed very much, but not enough to be forced to play online. Online gaming holds no interest for me whatsoever. Gaming is supposed to be fun. Not something we have to worry about regarding servers being up, some fool hacking your character, or worse yet your harddrive. Therefore, thanks again.

Hold on there. regarding when you buy a game you don't own it. That's nonsense. Piracy occurs for more than a few reasons. Anyone can sell a cd, but I have NEVER had a game of mine hacked. WHY??? I don't adhere to the online stupidity. Games get hacked because you are online and CHOOSE to play in MMO mode. Some criminal out there will find a way to your harddrive. You illiminate possiblity by not participating in such foolishness. If more customers stop playing online stuff stops. Hacking your games in this case. However, that won't happen. Thus, when a person enters the arena of online gaming you are taking an immediate risk. Once Blizzard announced D3 was going to require online only play. Trust me the Hacking people started working. I mean the announcement is like flies to honey and besides Blizzard is in this for the money. Any negative publicity or complaining will be looked upon as a small problem compared to what they are making on this game. Anyone who gives any information to Blizzard or access to one's harddrive via DRM to play D3. Sorry I have no sympathy for you. In the words of the wise. It's all about money and Blizzard does not give one rats behind about any customer problems as they walk to the bank. Go to Blizzards sight. One in five customers are having an issue. If Blizzard servers are not up like they should be and allow you to play at your whim. Then Blizzard is a problem. Do the math. I will not purchase D3, but I imagine the game is very good, but there comes to time someone has to say no to online gaming. Games are supposed to be fun and not a hassle. I've never had a game hacked and have no attention of helping someone do so. So do me favor stop the commerical for Blizzard.

If you just have to have this game? Then go ahead and purchase Diablo III. However, after reading the official Blizzard forum, be warned hacking is running rampant and getting kicked off is a regular happening. I played Diable 1 and 2 and enjoyed them throughly. Yet, I could see this online requirement for D3 coming long before it was announced. I also would bet anyone a dollar to donuts in the future you are going to be required to pay to play. It's going to happen. Bet on it! It's what Blizzard does. I spared myself all these problems I won't buy the game. When it comes time I have to have a game to cope with my gaming fix. Then I need to reevaluate my life's priorities. Gaming is supposed to fun. Not a necessity. Read the forum at Blizzard. If Hacking happens more than once the sight is not secure. Too much angst to play D3 for my liking. I'm sure the game is good, but the hassle is not worth the experience.

I don't like the fact Diablo III is online. Therefore, I am not purchasing the game. After all Blizzard is the boss. Thus, they have a choice. I am certainly not angry at the company. Nevertheless, I do believe sales will suffer somewhat. There does come a time when the customer can suggest enough already with the online nonsense. To each his own. I get to save 60 dollars unless the Blizz wakes up. I don't intend to lose any sleep over Blizzard's decision. It is what it is.
