Again, Gamestop will continue to rip people off as long as they can. The Publishers need to change their contracts with retailers and models to offer incentive for consumers to purchase digital copies if they want things to change. If they offer a digital version for $45 or $50 a week earlier then physical retail, that will go a long way to get people to purchase digital copies that cannot be resold.
Also, if they do a better job of offering sales or dropping prices on digital copies after they have been out for a few months they will be able to compete with used physical copies.
Was interested till I got to the bottom and saw that they gave her the rights to the CastAr tech she was working on while at Valve. No other company would do that. She is doing some backstabbing of her own.
You guys missed the "certain regions" line? Basically, this will be rolled out to Asia where they don't already pay a traditional subscription to play WOW anyways.
So in a game where you kill zombies by hacking them to death and many other methods, what got the review board all pissed was that "stimulants" were in the game? Seriously?
@MagneticFusion @Krellenn If they did that ton of people would not buy discs and then they would not have to worry about used games. But, Sony and Microsoft all have deals with Walmart, Best Buy, GameStop etc to keep digital price at $60 cause they still need the physical retailers.
Where Cliff is incorrect is that people who buy used or rent games are not going to suddenly pay $60 for every game they want to play. They will play less games. Now this is fine if new price is lowered to $40 because there is not a used market so won't have to inflate prices and more people will buy the new games. But, even if they remove used games will probably be greedy and try to keep prices at $60.
Example: Why are the Digital purchases for new games still $60? Probably contract related, but need to change that. They can sell those for $40 or $50 new and not worry about used market that way. But, they arent doing that.
