Thanks to all for the responses. Very reassuring!

Purchases are linked to your console, not your Harddrive, I have taken my HDD to a friends house and was not able to play any downloaded stuff because it was purchased from my Console ID, their is however a way to go about this, you will need the console ID from your old 360, and the console ID from your new 360, and then you should be ready to go, if trading in your old console for a new, I suggest writing down the Console ID before picking up the new one, so its still on hand when you get the new one.

Have anymore questions just PM me, btw here is the link to the transfer page.

BTW, this can only be done once every 12 months, so use it wisely.

Can you help me a bit more? I'll PM as you said, but I followed that link you wrote and it seems pretty straightforward. Simply put ,do I need both consoles at the same time to do it? I doubt the store will let me do that! :/

Hey everyone, First off I would like to say I went trough the broken 360 thread and I couldn't find anything related to this -- and since this isn't really a question about damage, I'm going to ask it here instead... Here's the question: My 360 is indeed having issues, games "freeze" while I play them (as well as movies) but I have no ring of death whatsoever. It happens while I play. I read the threads here, I contacted the Microsoft support, but their automated responses are pretty lame and I've tried everything people have been pitching at me, this can't seem to be fixed. So when I purchased my console at Futureshop, I took the 3 years extended warranty in the store which means "no questions asked" exchanges. So I could just bring my Xbox 360 there and they would replace it for me, while I could keep my hard drive for downloaded games. Here's the catch; I've purchased arcade games and a lot of Rockband songs: Will they work on the new machine (with the old drive) or will I be blocked by some DRM-related crap ? In other words, this is basically moving a drive from a console to another one... but for a good reason for once. Can it work ?

I confirm that I can't log into steam at all tonite. I was replaying a classic (Max Payne) and when it finished, steam restarted... and now, I can't connect anymore.

Of course, just like Metal Gear Solid 4 ruled 2008 for the PS3. How about... NO ?

If you think about E3, I agree. If you think about when Nintendo showed off the Wii Controller, I strongly disagree. Bottom line is, you don't know for sure... so yeah, I'm personally going for the cautious route, but after a sucky E3, Nintendo is in the position where they need just that -- to show us something good. Quite frankly if not, I don't care how many sales they're having, the system is going to be the most boring of 2009.

Not bad, but I don't think it would work to play with someone else other than Link. Especially since we're all waiting for the 1:1 swordplay and I don't want that with anyone else than Link as the character. What I WOULD like to see is an enemy other than Ganondorf; I mean, it was so in TP until the end, and it was cool like that. Obviously speaking though, if it's about the triforce, it will always be te typical trio, since the triforce is always "in" them, but if we look at games like the Minish Cap. You know what I would LOVE to see? Know how we always talk about Dark Link? Make him part of the story next time -- Have something happen to Link halfway trough the game and have him split into normal link and Shadow/Dark Link -- with only one problem; The Triforce would be in the shadow version, and it would mess everything up. That I would love to see. Dark Link and Ganondorf together. Power and Courage against our hero. It would be Epic.

I have to agree. I love the Wii, playing lots of Mario lately, but the 360 IS the way to go right now, IMO. There's also achievement points ... very sweet. I got myself the messenger kit lately and I'm just loving it. I'm back in the game, it feels good (I had been behind for a while...) well, I guess it's case closed... unless someone else begs to differ.

cod4 get pc... bioshock probs 360...simpsons1fan
Sounds like the way to go. I mean I prefer the mouse, not really for the pixel-perfect precision, it's the acceleration that I miss. You know, doing a 180° with the game pad isn't just as good... but it's not the kind of move that really is required in COD games, from what I can remember of the 1st and 2nd... as far as Bioshock goes, I have no clue. I guess I'll take COD4 for PC (along with Crysis and UT), and Bioshock for 360...

Hey all, I have a good PC for gaming and I also have a 360. I'm interested in getting both Call of Duty 4 and Bioshock this month, but I'm undecided about if I should get the 360 or PC version; My specs (at a glance) are : AMD X2 3800+ Overcloekd at 2.5Ghz; 4GB OCZ DDR ram, but Vista 32 bits only recognizes 2.75, so that's what I've got; Nvidia 8800 Ultra, SB X-Fi fatal1ty champion, an Areca 1231ML raid card where I have a 6x500 GB RAID5 giving me about 390MB/sec reads and umm, oh yeah, a Dell 27" so I can enjoy 1920x1200 at its best. So here's the deal; I know I have a decent PC for gaming, but I'm actually wondering about the other important details: Control and Multiplayer. I love Xbox Live, but I heard multi on PC is better for COD4, so it balances out. What about control? Are these shooters OK on 360 with the gamepad, or is the experience really all that better with the keyb/mouse ? I'd have to go with keyboard/mouse, but looking at the sale numbers of those games on 360, I'm guessing it can't be all that bad... so anyway, I'm totally confused, any kind of opinion would help. Tnx!

I love how GS really is full of hypocrites  "Fire Jeff he gave LoZ: TP a 8.8. He doesn't deserve to live" ect. ect. now they are like "Oh noes Jeff is teh gonez. what willz we doz" and Yes GS users talk like lolcats.Cougarhart61
Oh-so-true. I'm pretty sure the score itself wasn't the reason he was let go, anyway. Come on people, get real, he's been around for 11 years or so, it's not a 6.0 that will get him out of the building. Must be an accumulation of events...
