Hardware Virtualization ??? I know this is all about games, but I'm a big fan of VMs as well... a quad-core processor with virtualization is a Virtual Machine user's dream...

we have, indeed, evolved. But that's it... an evolution.... never a revolution. The future looks boring, though, all that lighting, bump maps and crap like that... require way too much horsepower for whatever small benefit they offer.

I call damage control. Sorry, I had a PSP, got rid of it because it was a dust magnet... and this new one... would probably end up the same route. Again: IT'S NOT THE HARDWARE! It's the freakin' content !!!!

Well, I've owned cards of all brands, from the classic 3dfx to nvidia to ati and now back to nvidia, but truth is they're all good... I just went with the best performance/price ratio at the time and picked the card, no matter who did it. I really don't understand why you guys are fans of one particular brand... it's been years now that they just toss each other the ball in and out.

Anyway, to actually comment on the topic, I agree with the 10 suggestions, however I disagree with people who say "SONY was out, now they're back". I actually believe they never really left -- they were just in 'hibernation' mode a lil too much. I'm NOT a Sony fan [one bit], but I'm already a Wii and 360 owner and I'm just waiting for the PS3 to be worth the expense. In other words, I want SONY to shape up, because as much as I don't like the company, they have games I want to play. So while the suggestions make sense, I've come to realise it's not black or white; it's shades of gray. They aren't doing anything terribly wrong, but not doing anything perfect as well. Nintendo and Microsoft are in these shades of gray as well, except it's simply higher up the scale. While HOME is to my eyes nothing more than a worthless 3D interface that will keep video game players from actually doing what they bought a PS3 for -- PLAY GAMES -- and that it will serve developers more than the actual consumer (with banners and show rooms, aka publicity), SONY did what they do so well, once again: They managed to turn something absolutely unimpressive into a big deal. A great analogy would be Resident Evil. SONY is Sadler and the SONY fanboys really are nothing more than ganados. Seriously, HOME is a distraction from actual video games, but people embrace it because hey, something is better than nothing, it seems. Hey, after all, it was GDC -- where the "D" stands for "developers", but it ended up being us, the players, that got excited. Can anyone see what I mean? Massive milking right here !!! Anyway, as much as I seem to be complaining about it, hey... it's free, so... as long as it stays that way, it's added value to that 600$ box [699$ here in Canada, OUCH!!], but yeah... SONY still needs to do some more if they want me to buy it... and no, I'm not talking about rumble.

I think the editors are missing an important point. The #1 insult towards the PS3 is its price, and now they're taking something away from an already too-expensive system. THAT's what is very irritating to us video game players. Many of us wished they would have skipped the whole Blu-Ray crap altogether; the release would have been sooner, the system less expensive and shortages would probably have been less important, as well. But NOOO, keep the non-game content in there and remove the video game processors (old or not) from the system to reduce pricing... how can people then call those who complain cry babies? They're 100% right to be pissed...

The should call it WaitStation 3. Anyway, I don't really care, there's just no game that makes me wanna get one. I'm going to be there on day 1 for Wii, though.
