I know I wont be part of the "100 million" until a massive price drop happens.

Wow nice mix of very good comments, with the usual ignorant fanboy trash propaganda. All fanboys need to learn that if you arent on the companies payroll you are just sounding like a tard. With that out of the way, let me throw in my two cents. When the PS2 launched, it was obvious Sony was used to being in the top spot. They did some things that really infuriated most consumers. Now its obvious that Sony has been the fat cow in the #1 spot for way, way too long. Releasing a new console for $600 retail will wake them up. Before you say thats not a lot of money, keep in mind a few facts. 1. Not everyone can afford $600. 2. No matter how you add it up and compare the 360 and the PS3, $600 is still $600. 3. Overseas markets like Europe and Japan are going to pay much, much more for the PS3 than Americans. In Japan, Sony said its up to the retailers how much to charge for the premium model. Can someone say GOUGE. To all the fanboys, and intelligent people alike; I give this insight. Competition is a very very good thing. You do NOT want either MS or Sony to make the only console in the market. Then you will see how tyrannical that company can be. If you dont believe me, look at the market from the last 30 years. Nintendo, Sega, Atari and Sony have all flexed their #1 spot muscle to the dismay of both consumers and developers, at times making it very hard to love video games. And MS? Thats too easy, they have a monopoly with PCs, they would love to have the only console in town. On that note, just buy all the systems and quit acting like fanboy trash. Video games are too good of a hobby to be like that.
MS needs to just give up on Japan. They will not buy an American system with American games over a Japanese system with Japanese games. MS should focus its energy, time and money on making the 360 more successful in North America, Europe and Australia. If they lead in those markets Japan wouldnt really be a deal-maker.
