@saturatedbutter: Must be some kind of nefarious collusion. The only way to fight back against such underhanded behaviour is to scream about it on the Internet in as many places as you can. Make sure to include death threats, or at very least, to suggest people should lose their jobs. Your feedback is important, you know.

@phili878: There aren't any goblins in our game. We did have playable lizards (is that all that common?) and elves (cannibal ones), as well as a dragon. We also had voidwoken, oil oozes, crucified husks, silent monks, caped gheists, fire slugs, cursed swine, meat golems, mechanical sentries, magical puppets, possessed dwarves, shapeshifting liches, necromancer dogs, skeletons having existential crises, a dwarf that gives you a striptease, a turtle and a rat in love, portalmasters, a hat named Fran, teleporting crocodiles, swashbuckling rats, memories you can learn from eating dead bodies, and a lot of other really neat things. I'd hate for you to miss out on something you could love because you presumed some very wrong things about it!

@zer0day: As the aforementioned Kevin VanOrd, I can confirm that I did help make a nerd game for hipsters, but I am pretty proud of our awesome work anyway! As far as I can tell, we ended up in some pretty great - and deserving - company.

@Daian: I helped make Divinity: Original Sin 2, and Zelda is my personal Game of the Year. I have a lot of respect for the incredible people who made that game and the many others recognised here and elsewhere. 2017 was wonderful - and Nintendo has earned its acclaim. Much love to them for giving me such joy this year.

@manu_pt: As one of the developers of Original Sin 2, I can safely say everything you just said about our game is exactly wrong.

@slappy54: The answer lies in the many words I wrote in the review :)

@stereoflava: Yeah, I was disappointed in the characters mostly. The ones you spend the most amount of time with just don't have the energy or intrigue of people like the Baron, Triss, Yennefer, or Ciri. I really wasn't that interested in the main quest; I had much more fun with most of the side objectives, which is where the more engaging elements lie.

I also wished there had been more dwarfs, sorceresses, and the like. I don't think royalty-types in this universe are nearly as interesting as the scoia'tael, for instance. And with no sorceresses, the magical element was lacking, for the most part. Contrast that with The Witcher 2, which had an incredible magical sequence that began act 2, which is still one of the most memorable sequences I have ever played in an RPG. Don't get me wrong: I think this expansion is great, but I don't think it reaches the heights of The Witcher at its best. It's just super solid, and that was plenty enough for me.

@asnakeneverdies: I reviewed Wild Hunt, but I no longer work for GameSpot, and was unavailable for a Hearts of Stone review. Wild Hunt is very special--hence why I gave it a 10--but I don't think Blood and Wine reaches that level.
