People expected too much yes, but don't blame it on Activision for ''overhyping'' the title. In a perfect world, every game should have Destiny marketing budget so that gamers can try out what the developpers have been working so hard for. Also, no one forces you to buy the product on day 1. Wait for a few reviews and read about the gamers feedback, then make up your decision with the positives and negatives in mind.
I bought the game for the co-op itself (pvp et pve). Not caring about the story and I knew this type of gameplay would get repetitive (mmo grinding is my thang), and I'm having a blast. I would recomend it any day for someone with similar gaming taste as mine and with a few buddies to play with. Have a great weekend guys!
