Thank you for replying ronvalencia. I found out that somehow I forgot to close that clamp on the CPU before placing the heatsink. Once I corrected that, everything booted properly. Thank you for helping though.

I just recently downloaded a mod called Cry of Fear, a survival horror. I really want to play it to enjoy the scares, but I hardly ever get to a scary part BECAUSE I get "too scared" to where I quit the game. It's a never-ending struggle for me. I WANT to play horror games, but I have incredible difficulty playing them. I think I'm scared of being scared or something. Anyone else feel similar?

also, I tried plugging in a flash drive in the back panel to test the mobo, and while my flash drive usually lights up, it wasn't lighting up when connected directly to the mobo. Is it possible to have the back panel not work while everything else does?

I just compiled a pc together for my folks. The specs are:

Gigabyte GA-m68mt-s2 motherboard
4GB DDR3 RAM

500GB hard drive

585 watt power supply

I have everything plugged properly. I can see the fans working (the CPU heatsink, the the 190 mm fans , PSU fans), the disc drive I installed works. I can't really tell if the HDD is working, but I just cannot see anything on my monitor. Suggestions? Oh, by the way, I do meet the minimum 500watt requirement to run this mobo.

The awesome thing is: that rush you're feeling right now from all the excitement? That doesn't go away! Like others said, when the sales come around, I get all giddy as well. It's awesome.

I do but just very rarely. PC gaming is great, and I'm already started on my new rig for Diablo III, but to be honest I spend so much time console gaming I just can't slot it in. I have never found myself with no quality games to play on consoles.Spartan070
That's hilarious you post that, because I'm the exact opposite :P I play on my pc 90% of the time when I have time to game. While I have a PS3 and 360, I really just watch blu-rays on my PS3 and play rock band (drums tehe) on my 360. Otherwise, it's Skyrim, Batman AA, SC2, BF3, etc. I'm not saying your post is stupid or whatev, I just find it funny to what opposites we are at :D In all honesty though, I really think that if cross-platforming was a norm (i.e. the 360, PS3, and PC all playing against/with each other) These "Y U NO GAME ON PC" threads might cease....a little. There will still be those who say "KB/M is 1337", but I really think that by not letting the PC gamers play against their console brethren (with the exception of a few titles), there's an unnecessary wedge between the gaming community as a whole.

Like what jonlee said, check youtube, the hardware forum here, google, and newegg. I used these resources and I was able to build my own pc the same day I had all my components. It's a ton of fun and very helpful when it comes to troubleshooting issues with computers going forward. Probably my two favorite aspects of PC gaming are: the tight-knit communities (very intuitive people that will help you) and the low cost to upgrade after paying for the initial build of your computer. I just got a GTX 570 last year after using a GTS 250 for 3 years, I won't need an upgrade for AT LEAST 3 years. Like others have said: welcome to PC gaming :D

After seeing the trailer, I conclude that : 1: RE will never scare me or have the haunting atmosphere past RE3 2: RE will become a shooter 3: There will be a online multiplayer matchmaking system for 16 players between RE 7-9

[QUOTE="lowe0"]I was under the impression that Halo was no big deal to anyone who had played a first person shooter on PC. Seems kinda contradictory?lundy86_4

Fanbases don't operate with a hive mind. Halo CE was pretty popular on PC back in the day.

Still is actually. Plenty of people play it now. More so than Halo 2 PC
