@Nuck81: The battle system slowly unlocks as you progress, so be patient. It's mostly the same system as X but with some important differences. The combination of party members you have is more important than in X, because it's more focused on Topple and Stun.

It's also a more traditional linear RPG with a central story.

And the jump sucks. You're gonna miss the jump from X more than anything. That jump is amazing.

Once I get all set up I'll play y'alls levels too, not sure how to go about that, assuming I see stuff on my friends list or something?

Ha! Of course not. This is Nintendo. You need to find one of our levels first, THEN you can add the person to your follow list. No automatic friend list import is the dumbest thing about the game. Finding levels has gotten way easier since release, at least.

I hope you get addicted. I LOVED my time with that game. Hopefully I'll have a gaming lull sometime this year so I can get back to making levels. I never got tired of it, just had other things to play.

So which one of you guys minds that Nintendo has had Zelda ready to go for the Wii U but held off on releasing it so they could bump up the next gen version?

Even if that is true, I don't care. I doubt they would just put it on a shelf for a year. This is Nintendo. They'd keep tweaking it until it was absolute perfection if they literally had it FINISHED a year in advance.

Also, for me personally, this is the best time for Nintendo to do nothing. I have a budget of $5/month for games, so Nintendo being not tempting at all is great. The only game I foresee buying this year is Dark Souls 3, MAYBE Monster Hunter if I get a huge hankering. (I can shift funds from other under-budget categories if I want, so my gaming budget can be higher if things go well in other areas, but if I want Dark Souls 3, I think I'll need a new graphics card, so that's a lot of things go well in all other areas to be able to afford it.)

I've actually gotten really interested in e3 this year. I'm excited to see what Nintendo rolls out, I want a reason to get back into them again.

I already took off work for Monday to Wednesday that week. Don't want to miss anything. It's going to be a blast. The industry is in such a weird state right now, and I love seeing companies stumble their way through it. Hopefully good, new, cool things come out of it.

I see the reason to buy a PC but the advantage of buying a console is so you shouldn't have to worry about upgrading little things all the time for at least 5 years or so. I don't know the first thing about gaming PC's, upgrading processors or video cards, what's the best brands, etc.

I built my PC from scratch three years ago for just under $1000. Haven't updated a thing yet. I'm getting closer to needing to, but when I do, it won't cost as much as a new console would. Over time, if you're willing to be fairly conservative, it's cheaper than getting consoles. Game prices more than make up some of the cost, too.

Also, it doesn't take much to learn what you need to do to keep up to date. Most of the time, you don't need to do anything. Sometimes, games will be weird, but Googling solves 99% of problems pretty easily.

And mods. I'm playing the original Dark Souls with all the DLC (which I bought a few years ago for $6) with an HD texture pack and another mod that improves performance. I can't play Dark Souls 3 yet (for several reasons), so going through the first game again this way has been fantastic and wouldn't be possible on a console.

The gameplay is really janky, and it doesn't seem to be doing anything interesting. I didn't have any connections issues, though, so it has that going for it, at least.

Maybe cool stuff comes later? I played the two stages that are there from the beginning, and they were both pretty lame. I also unlocked the shop and laboratory, and that seemed lame, too. A game like that needs to have CONSTANT rewards and a promise of even cooler rewards in the future. This game has none of that, at least not at the beginning, which this beta seems to be.

Awesome job on the bench!

I'm going to try my damnedest to kill myself this weekend by renting this!

Something about the picture makes it look like it would fit in your hand. Now I'm imagining you out in your backyard spending hours digging a tiny hole by moving one little bucket of dirt at a time.

I talked to myself for an hour.

Isn't that how everyone plays games?

I did a lot of swearing at Dark Souls yesterday. Then I got up to get something and realized the windows were open.....
