As a parent myself, I monitor what my child plays and how much he plays it. Some mild violence (Banjo Kazooie, Mario) isn't a big deal, but you watch behavior, too. If your child reacts a certain way to a given element of the experience, the parent has to watch that and respond appropriately. The same goes for any of it.

While I do think American culture overreacts regarding sexuality, there's a difference in age groups here. A 15 year-old should know all about sex, more or less, so it's really not a big deal for the most part. A six year-old? That's totally different.

It varies. I'll never play Super Meat Boy because I heard it's hard, and I'm not looking to spen a lot of time figuring it out. Some people have more time and/or are better at games. The reason there are so many games, from hardcore stuff like Ninja Gaiden to ultra-casual stuff like FarmVille, is because there's an audience for varying styles of gameplay.

The only thing I ask for, and most reviews seem to agree, is that games are honest about what they are. If a game is built to be difficult, it should be. If not, it shouldn't masquerade.

Unless Rocksteady drops the ball, Batman Arkham City should be a slam-dunk. Part of what made AA so fun was its mix of more open environs and tighter quarters, but I have high hopes for this team. Make the boss battles feel more organic and the game is perfect.

I am a fan of the concept that skill is important, but not everything, for kart racers. Snaking is not fun to play, and it is not fun to watch someone snake away, either. It's almost an entirely different game at that point.

I haven't played Wii yet, though I will at some point. Mario Kart 3DS looks awesome, too.

And CTR really was a great game.

You must play GameDevStory, available for the iOS and Android devices. You'll burn out eventually, but it's pretty addictive while it lasts.

So says my review, anyway.

If participating in one activity endlessly was fun for us, it would be a sad state indeed.

Do something else.

I was going to joke about a dumb Harry Houdini game, but that would make a sweet Kinect title.

It doesn't bother me, really. Publishers want to carve out their profits as well as they can every time the game is bought.
