The following has been collecting over the last year or so, as the "patches" were coming out:

  • Every now and then my game goes from VERY smooth down to a slide show for about a minute or two, regardless of the number of things on screen.
  • When I load into an area, the characters are black for a while. Then their low-LOD textures load in. Then their high LOD
  • Today the stable master's limbs were missing and people have blue faces.
  • Music cuts out...then drops back in one hour later.
  • After a short while I can no longer go into first person view.
  • My character riding on the horse was suddenly running on top of the horse. Hilarious but also disturbing.
  • My girlfriend's ESO doesn't want to start anymore (and she was the main reason I kept playing)
  • When she asked for support, they told her that she no longer meets the minimum requirements. Just to clairfy: she bought the game and it worked on medium settings prior to the last patch.
  • When I tried to discuss all this, I found out that to post in their forums you need an invitation code that expires quickly if you have not used it right after your bought the game (and why would anyone?) and on Steam only those who have the steam version can post, which is why I am posting this here.
  • I have only covered the technical stuff here because I assume that by now everyone knows what a disappointment the gameplay turned out to be. That has not changed much since they have been adding new content.

This game seem to come apart at the seams. Do not reward laziness or greed. I suggest do not buy this game at this time.

Howdy,

Here is my link for the 21 day trial

Unfortunately they stopped the 7 day recall program though.

If I find a way to confirm who you are after you sign up at the end of the 21 free trial I shall give you an isk present. Not too much though, as I'm still a fairly poor trader, and I'm greedy :)

Ah, this is pretty much what I thought. This seems to be a rare breed.

Yes, I got the Eur Truck Sim 2 as well, it's just not a car game :P Sadly Forza Horizon is not on PC. Neither is Midnight Club LA. Street driving sims are rare to begin with (I'm not counting NFS) and some of the better ones are stuck with particular consoles. Sad.

If anyone knows of any upcoming street driving sims please let me know.

So, I already know about Test Drive Unlimited. I also know about it's sequel that's supposed to have terrible handling.

I know about City Car Driving. I actually tried it and thought that there was something very seriously wrong with the handling (though other people don't seem to have my problem). I will try it again later.

Finally, I recall playing Need For Speed Underground 2 long time ago but it had 0 accent on realism. I don't know about more recent NFS games.

Does anyone know of any other 3D street driving sim or are TDU and City Car Driving pretty much it?

By "sim" I mean option for manual transmission (I have an H shifter) and some sort of realistic handling.

I heard it has a full sim mode, but I am reading mixed reviews. I don't need it to be overly realistic down to the last instrument like Flight Simulator X, but in the sim range.

Yeah, I've never had an AI freakout that was this damaging to the battle. No previous Rome games.

I'll come back to Rome II in about a year and see how things got on. I just regret paying the full price...

A small town I held was attacked by a much larger force from the sea. Having taken advantage of the disorganized landing pattern of the enemy ships, after like 30 minutes I managed to rout most enemy units only to discover that two enemy ships were bugged and their soldiers would not disembark. I could not attack them with my ranged units either and because I don't use the unrealistic time limit I could do nothing more.

This concludes me playing Rome 2 Total War.

I am usually one of the 1st when it comes to bashing critics, because I feel they don't fulfil their job description. They are supposed to let averge people know whether a particular piece of entertainment is worth paying for but because the critics are oversaturated with that stuff they tend to be pretentious and review by completely otherwordly standards, but all these reactions to Gone Home start to piss me off in the opposite direction.

People automatically expect that every game is supposed to be at least 8-10 hours long, contain villains, fall into one of several established genres and follow a particular plot. On the one hand they complain that every game is a COD clone but on the other hand God help you if you stray too far.

I think that the games I have played over the last 20+ years, all together combined, do not come close to the emotional content I found in the few hours of Gone Home.

Folks are oversaturated with fake violence; never fired a gun in their life; pointles competition; anything that's off the beaten path shocks them...without letting this go too far I just want to say that you can keep your chest high walls.

Pedals or mouse buttons for movement. The direction of movement will still have to be intergrated with the mouse movement. I am more concerned on how to switch between the mouse movement controlling arms and the mouse movement controlling direction of movement. I'll tell you more once I see how Skyrim did this.

I know that a friend of mine likes to get a mouse with a lot of functions and assign as many buttons to it as possible to make less use of the keyboard. Perhaps they should come up with analog sticks for mice.

I heard that ES Skyrim will let you control your shield arm and your sword arm separately, presumabely on the consoles using the analogue sticks or something, but then I thought why not PC and then I thought what the best way to do it would be and then I thought why aren't there any double mouse control configurations out there? You know - a mouse in your left hand controls the left arm/hand of your character and the right mouse controls the right one. You could use an assigned button on the left mouse to grab someone and your normal right mouse to stab him (left click and drag to cut his throat from ear to ear type thing). Could be used in other genres too like in space sims for example. Why are we so stuck to AWSD anyway?

Does something like this exist? Wouldn't it be a matter of just plugging two USB mice in your PC? Anyone tried?
