I don't think they'll double. The price isn't what's holding me back, it's the lack of something I want. The PS3 doesn't really offer anything to me that's worth $600. So really it's not the price itself, it's just that there's nothing worth getting..

When MGS4 comes out, and if it's still only on PS3, then I will get one, but I won't keep it. If MGS4 is not exclusive though, then I'm not getting one.

[QUOTE="Jandurin"][QUOTE="-Spock-"][QUOTE="Jandurin"]

Once again, I think "hardcore" vs. "casual" gaming is Gamer Mysticism.

Though, I'll agree that the only epicish games announced for the Wii thus far are either 1st or 2nd party, or Snatcher sequel (almost announced), No More Heroes, and Nights 2.

-Spock-

Snatcher sequel... on the Wii? I heard it was just a radio play..

It has to bemore. Why would they stop there?!?

Here's your reason, from EDGE magazine:

EDGE: In a Hidechan discussion with Grasshopper's Suda 51 you expressed an interest in making a text-based game. Do you still want to?

Kojima: I'd really like to but I know it wouldn't sell. You just can't do that today.

--

Obviously he hasn't seen the relative commercial success of Phoenix Wright and Hotel Dusk, and hasn't realised the cult following of the original Snatcher (and Policenauts in Japan).

Hotel Dusk has had commercial success? :?

I don't see that much Wii bashing, I think people just generally ignore it as it isn't considered a hardcore gamers system (and rightly so).

cheap shot

Not to turn this into an average SW argument, but I don't know why people think hardcores cannot appreciate the simplicity of uncomplex games. Look as Smash Bros, for instance.

Simplicity is often elegence, and I'm pretty sure most hardcore gamers can appreciate them. However for me personally, its not what I anxiously look forward to. I'm always waiting to see what the next big thing is, or how a certain genre is going to be redefined. Then you have the Wii, which is a console that seems to go out of its way to emphasize simple games and it strikes the wrong chord with a lot of gamers.

Personally, I like simplicity. It's nice to play a game and just have fun sometimes. Like WarioWare. Zero thinking whatsoever, but holy crap it's fun :D

"Today, what I'm saying to you is this: when you're facing a loaded gun, what's the difference?"

Edit: Awesome, I took so long to find a quote that someone beat me to the next post :x

I just finished watching it recently >_>

I wish it could've ended differently. I mean it was a good ending but... I'd rather have seen Kira win >_> I can almost agree with him, to be honest. In some cases, those people really did deserve to die. But making a "new world" built on fear, that I disagree with. His aims were good, his methods were not.
