The thing that kills me about 'social' gaming is it's really not all that social at all. There's simply the illusion of being connected to other gamers in what is otherwise a single player experience. Where's all this social interaction these developers are talking about? Posting crap to your wall and adding random people to your friend's list to get ahead in games doesn't qualify as meaningful social interaction in my books. Any video games with online play are actually far more social than most 'social' games, and MMO's even more so. There's actual communication, teamwork, and competition going on in these games.
