The latest consoles are always going to be more capable than the latest smartphones. Not only in terms of current computing power, but flexibility when it comes to things like controls. Do these graphics look good? Yeah they're good for a phone. But I could give a shit because outside of games like Candy Crush, I don't like touch-screen controls. I'll always prefer a controller and or keyboard/mouse.

Outside of Killer Instinct and Forza, not really seeing anything that's an exclusive, killer app. Maybe Crimson Dragon? But even then that just looks like Panzer Dragoon.

@deathstream @JackHoleFace00 Oh, I wouldn't worry about that though. The Elder Scrolls team is still going to continue making TES games like they always have. If I'm not mistaken, this is a totally different dev team. So if you don't like it, just skip it and wait for the next single player TES game to come out from the original devs.

Unnecessary for you, perhaps. But for gamers who can't afford a top of the line PC, having it come out on a new $399 system is most certainly big. Just look at the message boards for Planetside 2--people are saying the same thing.

Wii U is a disaster, starting with its name. No really, all of the soccer moms and casual gamers who went gang-busters on the Wii DON'T EVEN KNOW that something called the "Wii U" even exists.

Tip for Nintendo: When you go after a target audience that buys whatever the "fad" is, expect to have "fad" sales (i.e. see a huge spike at first, only to sails flatten out and never seen again).

Funny how much Todd dislikes Nintendo (mainly their policy of rehashing old franchises), but reviews so many Nintendo games, haha. Mind you I don't disagree with that POV, just saying

So why would they want to sell off a ridiculously profitable portion of their business again? Did I miss something?

McShea clearly doesn't get the marketing aspect of this all. There are reasons for buying an ad during the Superbowl vs. buying cheap inventory at 2:00am. As an ad exec who has purchased media on sites like GameSpot, there is a reason people purchase home page takeovers with custom ideas vs. cheap RON banners. And that said, there's a reason for E3. As much as us hardcore gamers like to say we're "above the hype," the truth is, millions of people aren't. Think about it: with all of the hate that people on GameSpot throw at COD, it still sells millions and millions of copies of year--because the hype gets a lot of people to do so!

So anyway, sorry Todd, but while your expertise in writing is there, it may unfortunately be lacking in marketing.

@uglypinkmoose Yeah--Pikmin was their last new IP... and it came out 12 YEARS ago. All the Nintendo fanboys: please stop apologizing for Nintendo not making anything truly new for over a decade.
