@LokiHero: actually, i think bioshock (barring the second one) is one of the most original and least derivative shooters to come out of this generation. i still recall the heavily scripted intro of the first title that immediately drew me into this new, amazing and unique world of Rapture by introducing me to plasmids, big daddy's, little sister's, and atlas all within the first 30 minutes. there's no telling what portion of the game Mr. Varanini demoed, but i'm going to guess that it was probably the intro. perhaps you should have a little more faith in Irrational. they clearly take their time with their games, and as a result of this, they've produced some of my most favorite video games ever. let's not hold the second title against the franchise because it was clearly unfocused in its development and lacked originality. infinite, i suspect, is going to be a much more unique and fine-tuned experience than bioshock 2, and i'm almost certain that, like the first, after the brief introduction period we will be free to wander around the world as we please.
