There are no brain functions associated with gender - so I'm left a little confused by this sentiment. How can you "think" as a female? Especially if you aren't a female? In essence, aren't they only projecting what they think what a female would be thinking?Mcspanky37

"Sex" refers to the biological and physiological characteristics that define men and women. (ie, XY, or XX)

"Gender" refers to the socially constructed roles, behaviours, activities, and attributes that a given society considers appropriate for men and women.

The difference between the sexes is a very narrow line comprised of merely 59 million base pairs ('Y' chromosome) (the whole genome is > 3billion). And both men and women are subject to essentially the same social conditions, being that we live together. The pressures may vary slightly based on how they think of themselves, and how people act towards them, but overall it's not very different. 

So thinking like a female is, partly genetic and that is prone to error(nature), and partly due to social interactions (nurture). It's not really some uncrossable berrier, but rather a fine line.

Your question isn't really far off asking "Why do we all look slightly different?", and "Why do we all have slightly different personalities?".

Saying "men are from Mars, and women are from Venus", is kind of a silly way to look at it. We're extremely similar.

What are you talking about? Addicts can eventually get through their addiction. The difference is nothing actually is making them thin this but themselves to a point where it's stuck in their head.

Paranoia can be treated, and if someone has it, they should go to a psychiatrist to start getting help.

Now, I don't know much about the treatment of this condition, but I doubt it's much different; being that it has to do with the brain's functioning, understanding why the person thinks this way is important. I'm sure there are cases in which people are not actually transgender, but it's a result of something other problem they're having, and that gets treated instead...

Your brain makes your reality, regardless of whether or not it is in fact real, is real to you. You can't re-wire the brain to fix the "problem" (assuming the people would want this "problem" fixed.), so what treatment would be best? Force them to live as they don't see themselves, or allow them to be who they are? And Gender != Sex.

And the insults come out when someone else speaks the truth and you can't handle it.

If you want to game, you have lots of different options. You choose Windows because ur the one who bought it, installed it, and turn it on every time. There is no MS representative there forcing your hand. If you really don't like it, then don't use it, simple. The big "inconvenience" you speak of is because YOU (keyword: YOU) want to use different operating systems, it's no one else deciding this either.

Really do not understand why you and others have such a hard hate for Windows to be honest, but yet use it every day and enjoy the features it has.  (and you say that's not hypocritcal?).  If you can't accept this, fine... but don't go calling people stupid for pointing it out.

Why don't you simply game on the console? Is it Microsoft fault that you are gaming soley on the Windows platform? Is Mircrosoft the one making the games? No, so its rather silly to claim or imply that Microsoft is some how forcing you to use their OS.

You don't have many options in gaming (AAA especially), let's not lie about that. 

If you want mods, a choice of a good input devices, AAA games, convenience, and IQ -- your "choice" is limited to Windows (and don't forget good driver support). Yes, you can choose to sacrifice those and move to consoles ($400-500$ extra (assuming you already have the PC, and go next-gen)), but this is just as inconvenient as switching OS' and wastes power if you don't turn off the PC; or you can dual boot (100$ for Windows License), but you're going to end up using Windows a lot anyway.

Don't put words into my mouth, I've never said that I hated Windows, or that I'm blaming them for the lack of install base of Linux. In fact, I've defended Win8 from its anti-fanboys ever since Gabe made his statements about it. 

All SteamOS means to me is, there may possibly produce a sufficient install on Linux for publishers/vendors to justify support. It would be nice to have the choice of Linux. At least, 0$ sounds like a nice choice to me.

Wrong, MS doesn't hold a gun to your head with anything. You are the one who chooses to use Windows.  Last time I checked there wasn't any National Laws which say "You MUST have a PC running Windows or you will go to jail"

I effectively have not chosen Windows, I have to use it if I want to play games (especially AAA). Again, gaming is the only thing that ties me to Windows, as it's a giant inconvenience to switch OS' just to play a game.
