Mmmm... ...that distinct smell of walking simulator, with a sprinkling of "anyone still not over Konami axing Silent Hills?"

Seeing that PT is consistently rated as one of the scariest gaming experiences ever, despite being a 15 minute tech demo, trying to capitalize on that formula is not the worst idea in the world.

Answering this question requires living in an alternate reality where Max Payne was ever considered the best third-person game.

I doubt this is due to any kind of hardware or engine restrictions and more that Respawn and EA aren't going to devote significant resources to a year-old game that isn't selling many copies anymore.

It's not an accident that the update went live in the same window it went on sale.

I'm a bored, jaded, misanthropic arsehole, so I'm using the mobile version of this site's lack of thread creator indicator in the forum view to play a little game I call "guess the Ghost thread from the title." 14-3 is my current scorecard; 14 right guesses to 3 wrong guesses.

And yeah, he's very predictable, and seems to be getting more predictable the more I play this dumb game. Maybe I'll move on at 20 right guesses and play, I dunno, "guess the Cup thread" or something - though I strongly suspect that would be way too easy.

I thought I was the only one who played that game.

I play an additional game called "Is 'Guess the Ghost Thread' More Fun Than the Game Ghost is Ranting About?" Not an elegant title, but it works.

No, but your ability to say anything worth reading is.

I think the Xbox Series is very innovative in printing the image of a game that hasn't even been released on the package.

I also think that the method of promoting Game Pass using third-party games such as RDR2, which can only be played for a few months, is very consumer-friendly.

Finally, MS promoted the Series X as the most powerful console, which became clear that it was a lie. Nevertheless, I think that the attitude that MS behaves as if it had never happened is a great model for a profit-seeking company.

I think you're the only person who has accurately answered the question asked in the topic: say something nice against the console you don't like.

@IMAHAPYHIPPO: So what you're saying is that by me skipping every cutscene i didn't miss much 🤣

Also Sam Lake should be drug tested on a regular basis, his stories in Remedies games have always been weird af 😂

Thankfully i couldn't give a shit about the stories in video games as they get in the way of playing said video games.

I think the game had a good story, it's just the narrative team at Remedy forgot to tell us.

I'm hit and miss on stories in games; if they're not well told, I usually end up skipping them, but I'll watch them if they properly suck me in.

I really liked the overall tone and general weirdness, but I found the level design confusing and I found the plot hard to follow. I like that it started right in the middle of the action, but it felt like I was completely missing an opening chapter or previous game or something. It was a narrative that dropped players in while it was already in motion and never slowed down to fill us in on what the hell was going on.

It definitely looks fake.

If a "Switch Pro" was coming out in three months, that would have leaked ages ago. Plus it doesn't really make sense for Nintendo to release a Pro model while the base model is still flying off the shelves.

There's also heaps of "safe" guesses - mostly sequels and ports, lots of known titles without any of the wacky releases Nintendo usually includes in their line-up videos (where's Just Dance 2021?). Plus a bunch of stupid guesses like FF7 Remake, a Yakuza game, Fallout: New Vegas, and a demo for a mainline Mario game.

So...yeah, dead in the water. Why even bother posting it?

To be fair, they announced the Switch roughly 3 months before it came out.
