Indie roleplaying is taking over - thank god! In the last couple months or so, we've had The Inquisitor, a hardcore old school RPG, Explorations: Conquistador, and old chool turn based RPG and lastly, and excellent Sci-Fi "AA" Indie title that is yet another hardcore RPG called Mars: War Logs! Check them out on You Tube an be surprised you haven't heard of them! They are all diamonds in the rough

The 90's as a whole were the pinnacle of PC gaming. Originality, intelllgent games rather than the platform after platform console games. While console gamers had Mario, PC gamers had Ultima VII and F15-Strike Eagle, and Railroad Tycoon, and Civilization and Wing Commander and Warcraft, and on and on in every genre, and let's not forget the Lucasart and Sierra adventures and the incredibly detailed flight simulation like Falcon!

It's no conincidence that if you played PC games in the 90's you probably had 10 times he chance of working in the I.T industry than if you had spent all you time playing those platform console games!

EYE Divine Cybermancy but it sort of cheats cause it uses the HL2 engine.

VeryBumpy
How does it cheat because they bought the HL2 engine rights to use? Does this mean Vampire: Bloodlines is a cheat? What about System Shock 2 for using the Thief engine? Is every game that uses the Unreal engine a "cheat" too?! Funny how gamers and the media pick on the smaller developers in a way they don't the big guys!

I second E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy. Reminds me a lot pf the first Deus Ex with touchs of Silent shock - all using the HL2 Source engine. Copies some great ideas, like in research you allocate scientists to get the job done, more scientists, the quciker but more expensive the reasearch is - like X-Com! It has Augmentations, PSI, lots of great weapons and meaty firepower! Well worth a look, despite Gamespot notgiving it any coverage!

If in the UK and looking for a hard copy of the game on PC, I should let you know I have pre-ordered the game from bybygames.com for £23.99 on PC. Couldn't find cheaper, and they emailed me say they have contacted their supplier to confirm they will get the bonus maps for all pre-orders.

The bottom line is, only the Amazon's of this world will definitely get bonus maps for all pre-orders, as they probably order direct from Bethesda. Smaller retailers will probably order from wholesalers, and there's no guarantee those wholesalers will get a map for every pre-order.

I would rather save £4 on the Amazon price and take a chance on the bonus map though!

Generally, people in this thread are correct. As what retailer is going to say they won't get a map for every pre-order? Sure, the Amazon's of this world will get them. But I would rather save £4 on the game and take a chance! :)

It seems hugely import for gamers to have a face editing option, for practically any game. I am not sure why as in first person they don't see it at all, and in third person they only see the back of it, usually in a helmet!

Thats a good point you have there. Elder Scrolls games have no cutscenes, which are hard to compress, but instead have lots of speech which is easy to compress. Also, remember they build about 6 different bodies and then clothe them with 100's of differnt heads, which they can create procedurally. The story AI is only a database really and AI generally, even when good, takes up little room.

I bet if you took away the cutscenes from the Witcher 2, it would be well under 10gb, for example.
