Really the only way to get a chance at a free upgrade is if you bought the normal xbox 360 at Best Buy and got a replacement plan. If and when your Xbox 360 dies and if the only price equivalent model they have available is the Xbox 360 S then thats what you will probably get. That's a lot of "if"s though.

Would have been nice if they would have fixed that. Luckily it has so much HDD space I'll probably just end up installing my most played games. And not move the system while a game is playing.

You still need the disk to play it though. It just makes loading times faster. I'm not flaming. ^^

Yep I'm aware. As long as the disc doesn't spin it's still fine for me. Most of the time I prefer to have the system positioned horizontally anyway.

I remember there being a line about the council and their fate when being questioned. along with the status of who you recommended for human representative. I could be wrong though about which playthrough. Imported save or not imported. I've played several games.

When you import your save from the first Mass Effect. What it's doing is basically importing the decisions you made in the first game. Like how you completed certain missions. Or other miscellaneous quests you completed. At the start of ME 2 you answer some questions about what happened in the last game to tell the game how you experienced the first game. So importing your save isnt required. Other than that you get slight bonuses for importing a save.

Even if you have a working 360 it may still be worth it. I absolutely think that, 1. you need to get a 360 so you can play the best games on both consoles, and 2. that a 360 slim is clearly worth it. You'll be able to use it for years, so you'll definitely get your moneys worth out of it.

I love how one of your arguments that it's worth it is that it's clearly worth it. Well played sir.

lol I didnt notice that before. good find.

Unfortunately no. The only way to get your data to the new xbox is either transfer cable or USB flash drive.

You have to just look at the pros and cons.

New Xbox 360 250GB:

Pros:

Smaller and sleeker (although this is purely cosmetic)
Larger 250GB HDD
Less prone to failure (Supposedly)
Whisper quiet
Has direct connectivity with Kinect
Has larger vents than the original
Integrated 802.11n Wireless
Kensington lock support
A lot of trade in deals going on

Cons

No Memory Unit Ports
Still can scratch discs if moved while a disc is spinning (The original Xbox 360 has this problem as well)
HDD from the Original Xbox 360 is not compatible with the new Xbox 360 250GB
Would need to get a transfer cable or USB flash drive in order to move data to the new console
Only comes with a one year warranty

Original Xbox 360:

Pros:

If you already own one that works, no real need for a new one yet.
Memory Unit ports

Cons:

Disc drive is loud when playing a disc
Needs an external wireless network adapter to go on Xbox Live wirelessly
Smaller HDD (for some people)
Failure rate on originals is fairly high. (Currently on my 4th)
Extended warranty doesn't cover everything. i.e. Open tray errors
If using Kinect, you need to use an external power adapter (Which is included with Kinect)

Not sure if I missed anything, but I think I got most of it. If not I blame it on lack of sleep lol.

I doubt it. I'm surprised it went down as much as it has already. There is a lot of DLC out for it so I wouldn't put it past them on coming out with a GOTY edition later on. As for ruining the story, don't worry about it.

I'd say its worth it. I currently own a 360 and I'll probably still get the new one.
