It's getting coverage everywhere right now.

Quantic Dream did the same marketing strategy for Heavy Rain too. They're just making sure they drill the name into our heads as soon as possible, so on release we go "Oh yeah, I heard about that".

original games like bastion, minecraft, catherine, hell portal 2 was hella' unique yet got the shaft.

What exactly does 'getting the shaft' mean to you? All of the games you named were commercially successful and critically praised.

Although they look cool, they're definitely misleading and I don't see the point of advertising a 'game' when it's clearly not the game. I watched one advertising string which had MW3, Assassins Creed, Skyrim and Uncharted 3. The one advert I was most impressed with was Uncharted 3- it was equally polished in presentation but had the added bonus of displaying content you would actually GET. Any advert which doesn't show gameplay tells me that that the devs aren't proud enough to let the game speak for itself. That they're scared of the gameplay appearing 'boring' to the masses,,,,

if only there were a million different shades of grey and brown in the MP pallet. Then the graphics will be outstanding, like every other game out there. UC3 MP graphics aren't damn gritty enough...

Certain features are considered appealing in Japanese culture. High cheekbones, narrow face, light skin tone and large eyes are an asset for both men and women. FF even uses Gackt as a reference for many characters (and he's the face-model for Genesis) because he's the 'hottest' guy in Japan... achieved by anorexia, insomnia and botox

It used to be great- but the ND started fiddling with the health and tried to balance certain weapons, leaving the FAL to do the most overpowered gun known to man. I still play UC2, but I mainly just play the co-op modes, which are really fun. I sometimes dabble in Plunder mode. which can get really intense when you have a good team behind you too.

The facial animation in L.A Noire is really not the game changer everyone makes it out to be. Half the time the mouth area is smuggy looking and most of the facial skin textures look downright terrible.

Its shockingly good for the first few minutes and then it just looks average after the novelty wears off. This is all completely ignoring the fact that the game is about as diverse and entertaining as 7 different variations of vanilla ice cream. I hope you like that original flavor because thats all LA Noire is selling.

I couldn't agree more with this.

Tony Hawk games introduced me to loads of bands back in the day. And Fallout New Vegas has made me realise the joys of spurs that go jingle jangle jingle.

No. Multiplayer trophies punishes people who play games for fun, without great 'skill'. It's not my fault I can't rack up 20 headshots in Death Math in a row, but that doesn't mean I wont invest time into the campaign mode to play at my pace...
