It works with the PC but you need to find a driver that makes it work. There is a work-around driver (joy2key) that works in vista. It's not (for me at least) a simple plug and play.

Gamestop has this stick for $30 in the US. It works well for MK v DC. Manual says it works with PS3 Software only but your link has a review that says it works for PS3/2. I'll let you know when I have some time to check it out.

Acording to sonystyle, the 80gb MGS4 bundle will have software emulation BC, consistent with the previously-discontinued 80gb.

So does the upcoming MGS4 80gb have software emulation or is it a 40gb (no BC) with a bigger hard drive?

With 4 versions (20gb, 60gb, 80gb, and 40gb) and the first 3 being discontinued, can someone provide an overview of each version with pros and cons (such as no BC). And also what Sony has said their plans are, i.e. if the 40gb is the only version in production and it has no BC, are they going to continue providing software emulation updates for discontinued versions (20gb and 80gb) that do not have hardware emulation (60gb)? The questions keep getting asked but not fully answered - help out the people on the fence (like myself) that know enough to want a PS3 but not enough to actually buy one. Thanks for the feedback.

It's been a while since anyone repsonded to this post and I'm thinking about picking up a 60gb refurb because I want full BC. Anyone out there have any experience with a PS3 refurb? I appreicate your responses!

- Point of note - most PC warranties state that while the unit itself is new, it is built with parts that are new or nearly new (refurb'd parts). Haven't read through a console warranty to know if the same holds true.

What does "some" PS2 BC mean? Is there a list, similar to the 360?

According to articles I've read... probably not. The downloaded VC games are tied to the console they were downloaded to. But you'll never find out unles you ask... call them up - also ask what happens to VC content if your console is stolen (probably a similar answer).

As for this week, nothing of interest for me. But now that I think about it, there are some games that I'm surprised are not on the VC yet... Donkey Kong and the original "Mario Brothers" (Not SMB) come to mind.

All great titles but Super Mario 3 and Zelda Link to the Past are the best of the pack. I would recommend Super Mario 3 on the basis that it's running and jumping. Zelda is more puzzles, which can get frustrating for younger ones. I think there's also a Kirby game which is fun.
