This is why we can't have nice things...
@lavadobrazil I would say, absolutely it deserves that score. I'm about 12 hours in and I love it. I'm really into nautical history anyway so this is right up my alley. People have seemed to be concerned with the variety of the tasks in this game compared to the previous iterations and I have to say that there's almost 'too' much to do. There is a feeling of familiarity to some of the tasks but thats to be expected, its AC. If they broke away to much from the core mechanics we'ed all be complaining about that instead. They took what they had with AC3 and polished it up and made the controls much more fluent. It's just a better game. Also, I've had next to no glitches or bugs thus far which is WAY more than I can say for AC3. I had to redo several quests because of the intended target clipping into terrain or buildings. I'm sure everyone's play experience will be different, I haven't seemed to encounter any problems. I don't think the amount of eavesdropping missions is overboard. I felt like there were less of them than AC3. That being said its still not a fun mechanic to dance around but its not as hard to get through as AC3. If you don't like pirates or maritime adventures then of course you won't care for this game. But the setting and characters work well with the Assassin / Templar plot, at least Edward is far more interesting than his angst fueled grandson Connor. Bottom line, its a great game.
@jayjay444 I had the exact same thoughts and reaction. I was thinking, "Man I can't wait until in-game graphics get as good as this" and then near the end the camera panned back and went into the standard third person action viewpoint and my jaw dropped.
I grew up with Shadowgate on the NES and loved it. I will definitely be getting this when it comes out.
It's a good thing that the exploit got patched but I'm not so sure it's ok to ban players for taking advantage of bad programing. It's not really the player's fault that the exploit existed in the first place, it's the developer's fault. Seems like they're punishing the players for their mistakes. To quote the Riot Games Community Manager, "That's bull****."
All the money for this trailer went to getting Michael Gambon to do the voice-over.
I can see Nintendo releasing a new console in the near future. Because, let's face it, the Wii is behind the times. Sure its got the whole interactive gameplay gimmick and they do it better then X-Box or Sony but as far as interface and games its a dinosaur. Don't get me wrong, I love Nintendo, I own a Wii, but I hardly ever play games on it. X-Box and Sony don't really have a reason to make new consoles quite yet. They're doing just fine with what they have and the technology isn't quite there to take it to the "next step". I think we have around two to three years before we see a new X-Box or a PS4. But Nintendo has a bit of catching up to do in terms of hardware so a new Wii makes perfect sense especially one that can play DVD's and Blu-Ray. Why they won't add this feature is beyond me.
GTA III was a great game for so many reasons. But mainly for me it was a game that I enjoyed when playing it with other people, having a group of friends together taking turns at the controller and watching each other's crazy stunts, coming up with suggestions of what they could try next. Hell, even my sister loves this game. And it's all because of the freedom they gave the player within the game world. Keep on rockin' Rockstar.
I find it interesting how many people are complaining about this add-on. If its going to make the controls tighter and more balanced then why complain? Just because they didn't have the technology back when they released the Wii originally doesn't mean its a waste of time and money. They are trying to improve their product, I dont see Microsoft or Sony doing anything like this with their consoles, and yes they could use a few improvements too. I'm sure most of you wont agree. The only major question I have about the Motion Plus is how it works with games like Wii Sports and Zelda TP.
