For anyone looking for good recent-ish 3D Sonic games, see Colors\Colours (Wii) or Generations (PS3\X360\PC). WiiU supports Wii games on the tablet now too (using the tablet stand and playing with a Wiimote).
Lost World... I didn't really like it as much. But it seems pretty obvious that it's still better than this.
@VegasDawg @Gamerno6666 @prats93 Yup. At least Gamespot put down that pretentious "about our reviews" page that literally said they didn't think their reviews were opinions. The current "about our reviews" page in contrast is almost self-deprecating, showing balloons marked 1 to 10 and a dart-throwing monkey saying "this isn't how we assign scores, honest" (of course, we know the real deal has a lot more balloons marked "8"!)
@Dissentioncc @ziseknsa Because the Metacritic scores would have been radically different if the OP went through the labour of finding what the MC score would have been with those two scores removed, out of dozens.
Is that the worst flaw with the OP's reasoning? (That's a sincere question open for discussion - I haven't been following this generation's war closely yet) - Edit: yeah the posts below are already much better refutations.
@manbaku @grr8jon I was pleasantly surprised with the demo. The controls felt better than I thought they would. And there's a few games I don't like control-wise on the 3DS - for example, DK Country Returns. I suppose my expectations have been tempered due to past games.
Of course, if a reviewer is going to point out a notable flaw with Smash 3DS, that's exactly the one the top management of Nintendo will be happy to see pointed out, for the purposes of hyping the second game, and by proxy, their home console.
@II_Exile_II @howling_lead Then again, previous Mario Karts didn't cost $65-$70 (Wii was $50). Also, Mario Kart DS added four cups and they didn't charge that as DLC. That said, Mario Kart 8 is a high quality game, and, as you said, the DLC is healthy amount of time after initial release, so I'm ok with it..... I would just hate to see them slide further and start effectively charging $100 for a complete game.
Also, those who've played Mario Kart 8 yesterday or today can attest that Nintendo might be a little pushy with this DLC. It's not just a "shop" item on the main menu, it's also all over the selection screens whether you want them or not.
@canuckbiker You might notice that "only three *starting* courses" was listed as a negative in this review. "Only X *total unlockable* courses" was not listed as a negative. But you know what's listed as a positive? Wide range of content. Selective reading much?
