@c0mmanderKeen: you only really need to buy one gpu per console generation.

wait till a gpu that's twice as powerful as the most powerful console is out (that'd be the 780ti, the 970 gtx or amd's 290x, 390x and so on), buy that and you're set until the next gen.

@akassassin11: you're exactly the same as my brother, just on the opposite side of the spectrum. he says consoles are too expensive and not really worth having anymore, as everything good is multiplatform and he can play it for cheaper on pc.

i, at age 30, still prefer having both a console and a good desktop computer. besides, i have a 10 meter HDMI cable connecting my pc to my tv when i feel like playing on there. which happens way less than i expected it to...

of course, if i had to pick, i'd go with pc every time.

@maximo: well, they look similar, but not the same.
my pc also runs at 100fps on my 144hz gsync screen, so that's a plus over consoles (yes, it does make a difference. a huge difference)

@squall_83: one or two of those 8 cores are dedicated to run the OS on consoles.

and one of my cpu cores (i5 at 4.5ghz) on my desktop pc is ---faster--- than five of the ps4's cores put together. you have to take into account that despite having like 3 times as much clockspeed than the bulldozer-based stuff on the consoles, my i5 has better IPC on top of that. which means a core from an i5 would be significantly faster than one core out of those cpus even if it was on the same clock speed.

so.... do the math.

still, it's not our problem. it's the devs that have to worry about working with the limited firepower. who cares if the cpu is slow if in the end they still manage to deliver great games such as this on consoles?

@NickAnguiano: xbox one's actually the same cpu, but clocked at 1.75ghz. it's slightly... less terrible.

@BigShotSmoov007: i agree. for different reasons though. i don't give a **** about progression. the problem is that this game relies too much on each character's one-button gimmick "abilities", rather than focusing just on player skill and team play.

in the end, i'd rather play teamfortress 2, old as it is.

game's honestly pretty shallow and crap.

i liked it at first, but it didn't take long to realize it's actually not very fun. it's more character ability-based than skill based. that's.... never good, specially in a fps. game's only fun as long as you haven't tried all the characters yet.

@stelios: this has no use in gaming, or at all at its current form.

if there's space for only one tech, it's clear which will stay. this will be more gimmicky than a kinect, and will probably share the same fate

@beantownsean: there are hacks to make it work. i have that shit too and i have it installed right now.

guess why i bought it in the first place? yep, my xbox360 had 3rl'd a week after gears of wars released and i really wanted to play it. it was so fucking buggy i almost regret buying it (not to mention my pc was a third as powerful as a xbox360 back then...
