Even using the 1:1 mode DS games still run in a slightly larger window on the 3DS XL. The normal 3DS runs in exactly 1:1. Even with that being said, I would still recommend getting the XL. It really makes no difference for DS games and you're going to enjoy the bigger screens when playing 3DS stuff.

Here's a screen from showing the difference

Wow, the 3ds makes the game tiny.

I was thinking about getting a 3ds xl soon since I lost my ds lite, but I was wondering how ds games look on it. I've heard mixed things...some say they look terrible and some say they look good. I was mostly wondering if they look pretty much the same as the ds lite using the 1 to 1 option, without stretching the screen. Thanks for the help.

I've looked into persona 4 arena from the suggestions, and it looks really good. Gonna have to give that a shot for sure.

[QUOTE="4NGoods"]As a big fan of fighting games i feel the the current generation of fighting games have been so overly simplified that it sickens me. Developers nowadays are catering to people just like you who dont want to put in the time to learn by adding features like assist gems, auto combos, and simplified/shortcut commands. Well if holding forward and pressing a punch button is too hard to remember to throw a fireball for you then i don't know what to tell ya. You might have to wait till Playstation battle royale, or whatever its called, is released or just go back to playing COD. 4NGoods

I think you're missing the point. Spending hours learning a characters move list doesn't take skill, it just takes time. Also, you must not play as many fighters as you claim if you think holding forward and pressing a punch button is the depth of any fighter on the planet. And finally, I don't know what playing cod has to do with anything. I don't play cod, but it's not a fighter anyways, so you have no point.

Actually i play lots of fighters and you're unaware that capcom implemented a system in SFxT that made throwing a fireball as easy as Forward and punch (or something as simple as that, not sure of the exact input command b/c 1/4 circle plus punch is already pretty easy as is, so i never used the easy commands). And time is the very thing you complained about seeing how you said you didnt want to invest time to memorize a move list that would take you days as stated in your OP. But it's ok, i can tell you're a novice at fighters b/c you seem to think that memorizing moves is what it takes to be good at them when if fact that couldn't be further from the truth. And lastly, if you didnt get the COD reference then I guess your lacking at reading between the lines as well.

So one game has the ability to do fireballs by pressing forward and punch (Assuming you're right), so all fighters somehow lack depth nowdays? I don't even know what you're trying to say anymore, none of it makes any sense. I'm guessing you're trying to say I don't want to spend any time and just want to be good. I'm okay with spending time on game mechanics, but spending time trying to memorize a characters move list isn't fun. I don't recall ever saying all fighters just require you to memorize moves to be good. If I said that, why would I be looking for a fighter to play in the first place? And I really still need an explanation on this whole call of duty thing your going on about. What does call of duty have to do with fighters and why should I care?

Does anyone know of any on ps3? For example, super smash brothers is the type of game where it takes about 5 minutes to learn all the attacks, and all the characters have the same imputs for their own attacks. It's a game that is very easy to just pick up and play with a decent amount of skill. Games like mortal kombat and soul calibur on the other hand I've found have extremely long move lists that you have to study and remember for days, and each character has their own combos with their own specific button combinations. Essentially what I'm asking is if there are any fighting games that don't require studying move lists to be decent. I'de like to play this game with friends when they come over, and they aren't going to want to sit there trying to memorize a 10 page long move list. Thanks.

Hey everyone. I was looking to get one of these 2 dragonball z games for ps3 and was wondering which one is better. I've heard some things that make it seem as though Raging Blast 1 was better, but I'm really not too sure yet. Any advice would be appreciated.

i've been wanting to get a strategy rpg for a bit, and I've boiled it down to Disgaea 4 or Final Fantasy Tactics. I played Final Fantasy Tactics A2 on the ds and I thought it was good, but the story was almost non existent. I thought the customizing the classes was pretty deep and extremely addicting. I've heard the first final fantasy tactics is superior to the sequels in pretty much every way, especially in the story.

I don't know much about Disgaea, but I've heard very good things about it. Is the combat similar to final fantasy tactics, and does it have a job system of any kind? The thing that makes final fantasy tactics so fun for me is customizing your party's jobs. Has anyone here who has played both give me some advice.

It's hard to answer without knowing what types of games you like and which you don't.LovePotionNo9

For me, I like pretty much every type of game. Except stuff like fitness games.

What does everyone think some of the best games under $30 for the ps3 are? I would say final fantasy 13 is a pretty good deal for 20 bucks.

I really wouldn't take anybodies advice on how to play your character. You should build him how you want. There isn't any wrong choices here. Obviously some skills are more effective than others, but isn't really a big deal. If you want to become an unstoppable killing machine, you'll want to invest points into enchanting.
