Surprised no one's mentioned the Joker yet. But I guess it goes without saying.

EDIT: Sylvia Christel from No More Heroes. Not in your face insane, but there's something incredibly off putting about her, at least to me.

I wanted to and mention a lot of the others from Arkham City and Asylum but then I'd probably end up being here forever or longer than I should be.

I agree it is funny L4D won the vote. Seriously who is going to Steam sales that wants L4D but was just waiting for the right price even though it has been that price so many times now.CanYouDiglt

Either that or Dead Island or War Z.

I don't get how something that is boring and un-original as the worst.   One of the worst sound tracks for a game that everyone might know is the original Resident Evil.  Its so god awful, especially the basement kitchen music.  For its time, it sounded like a very bad soap opera but it somehow fitted so well with the game.  Now its considered to be classic.  Go figure.

Using a benchmark game........

RE2 had far superior music and graphics, as well as 3 times the depth.

Ya, if I said Bugs Bunny for the gameboy had the worst music (and its music is awful) then no one would know.  But using a game everyone knows, I would say the original RE (not the remake because the REmake had absolutely brilliant music) had some pretty awful tunes.  I think the mansion music and safe room music were the only decent tunes.

Bugs Bunny's Crazy Castle?

I don't think people who said Bayonetta played much of it. The game moves away from silly japanese music pretty quickly, and even if it never did, would you really say that's the worst? I mean there are far more grating soundtracks out there.

Edit: In fact, why the hell are people saying any of this shit? Mario? Zelda? Halo? Battlefield? Souls games? Have none of you played a game with a genuinely bad soundtrack before? Not to say that every one of those has a great soundtrack, but give me a freaking break.

jg4xchamp

To be fair, you've probably posted in enough "worst game you've played" threads on SW to realize that everyone here tends to have a pretty decent game on average as their worst game played. So by default a lot of the examples being thrown out are gonna be at worst only really decent/okay soundtracks the same way "worst games" threads always tend to have a lot of okay games. Not everyone has suffered Mafia 2.

I'd take Mafia 2 over Brink any day of the week.

[QUOTE="FrozenLiquid"] Why would you? You'd be in a pretty sorry state to constantly worry about what other people like. In any case, I was referring to the fact that I come here after months of not being in touch with any sort of gaming community, and instead of perhaps finding people in heavy discussion about State of Decay or Don't Starve, you guys are circlejerking over The Last of Us just as much as my dudebro friends. It's like I haven't even missed much.FrozenLiquid

I don't know if you've considered this, but maybe--just *maybe*--there are a lot of people who really, really like The Last of Us. Is it any surprise? People are raving about this game everywhere, from Reddit to /v/ to neogaf. It's an amazing game.

Lateral thinking, yo. I wouldn't be speaking my mind if I didn't see a trend in the rankings. I mean, Mass Effect, Skyrim, and Bioshock as well? Those three games have at two things in common: crazy marketing campaigns and post-mortem controversy. In any case, my original comment was a blunt observation. An admitted semi-casual with lame taste (look at my sig), I just thought y'all would be better at selecting good games. But yeah, seems that only jg4xchamp, drinkofjuice, and hell, even Aris are among the few here that one could trust with drawing up a "best of gen" list. The rest of you guys suck. Anyway, that's my two cents before I disappear for another million years lol. P.S lots of new blood around, I guess another generation is around the corner :P

My god you are an ass of the highest caliber and category.

In terms of complexity...dwarf fortress. Otherwise LSD had me legitimatly confused.Some-Mist

Yeah, Dwarf Fortress is all kinds of what. I hear it's an amzing game once you get past the confusion but I feel like the "risk/reward" here is probably not worth it; for me anyways.

BF:BC2

I feel like it the soundtrack was made to be intentionally bad because of how B movie cheesy the singleplayer campaign was but it's still really bad. A lot of it sounds like an Indiana Jones rip off and at other times just Generic Action Adventure Movie Soundtrack #693.

lightleggy

BC2 had a soundtrack?

If you want to call that extremely generic, rip offish, bland, dull action adventure a "soundtrack" then yes.
