I considered picking it up, but I already have most of Square's games - And in fact all of what was in the box. I knew there was no way that FF8 would have been in it - It was only just released after all. Anyone who seriously thought it would be there seriously needs their brain examining.
<< LINK REMOVED >> And which of the many, many PC JRPG's on the Square website do you think should have been in the box? FF7 - which wouldn't be a Steam key (Which the majority of people who would want it would have already picked it up), or FF8 which was only just released? There are no other JRPG's available via the Square website..
<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> Because JRR Tolkien was forced into selling the media rights for The Hobbit & LotR's for far less than they were worth to cover a tax bill, meaning that the Tolkien family aren't entitled to a penny from anything to do with the movie (Except the massive royalties from increased sales of the books). Because of this, he's become extremely miserly with the rights to any other of his fathers works, and is often seen hiding in caves, clutching them to his chest muttering "They are mine, MINE! They're precious, yesssss.... Preciousss to usssss".
<< LINK REMOVED >> No-one can do anything at all with The Silmarillion - Its still owned by Christopher Tolkien, and he's on record as saying (repeatedly) that he will never license its rights to anybody, for any reason. As to Mordor being a wasteland, there were 3,000 years between The Last Alliance and the events of LotR's, more than enough time to see some life creep in, only to be destroyed by the pesky orcsies later.
