@Abberon The reason film's from the 80's and older are remastered on to bluray even though they were not filmed with modern camera's is because 60mm film grain has more than 1080p resolution to be had, in fact, watching something like Casa Blanca or Ghostbusters on bluray after they master it in 4k and down rez it to 1080p, is absolutely amazing. The colors more vibrant, clarity much better. It actually looks as good as alot of modern blurays.
FFX was one of the last truly loved Final Fantasy's for alot of people, which is why it is getting an overhaul in textures, clarity, and even updated bitmaps etc... They are even redoing voice overs. If you enjoyed the story from this game and want to see it updated so it looks amazing in the HDTV world, you will want to buy this version for sure.
FF15 looks pretty sick actually, it is now an action game and it looks insanely awesome unlike the MMO crap they put out or FF 12 and 13.
They can do more than that... check out the 4k gaming rigs, they do 2160p. From what I hear by reviewers, once they try gaming at 4k, it completely wrecks 1080p for them, like going from 1080p back to the 480i days.
I'm sorry but 1080p will look better than 720p to the average person, ESPECIALLY when most HDTV's that gamers are playing on are 1080p. So having a 1080p source on an HDTV with a native resolution of 1080p is going to look 10x better than 720p on a 1080p. I remember playing the original resistance on a 720p native resolution HDTV and it looked amazing. The most important factor other than source rez is matching that rez to the native rez of your tv.
I hear 4k gaming completely wrecks 1080p for people. So once you go 4k, you never go back! Now to get the thousands of dollars to setup a rig that can handle it haha! PC > PS4 > XBONE.
I've had the same 1,000 watt power supply for 6 years. I've updated my motherboard and cpu once.... THe graphics card is the only upgrade needed usually. Just update every 3-5 years and you can easily play new games at max graphics. That's whats great about PC's, you don't have to wait 7-10 years for the next console. Get into man!
Just get another 660 ti man. 1 660 ti should run it at ultra but not smoothly. I mean when I had just the 1, I was already face rolling game graphics for the most part, but the 2nd card just puts it over the top, especially if you plan to game at HD+ rez. I'm planning on upgrading to 760 ti's if they launch a ti version, which according to Tom's doens't look like will be the case, which means I'll get the 8 series next year when they launch.
Damn you just blew my mind. I think your about right, 64 bit CPU's are already 10 years old. Holy hell. I remember my Athalon 64 haha. Playing Medal of Honor Allied Assault on my GeForce 6800 GT 128mb lol.
I'll give you that, but there really is something special about seeing a game like Crysis 3 or Metro 2033/Last LIght at full bore and HD native resolution. I mean that was always one pet peeve every generation for me, was the resolution, it really does affect the look so much. I actually was just reading about 4k gaming and the rigs you need to play games at high details and that rez, and it is insane the hardware you need, but the reviewers said that even at 27" monitor, because you sit so close, gaming at 4k just wrecks 1080p for you, and you'll never want to go back.
