Nothing really. I think he should be done. For me, the point of the GoW series was to fight and kill gods. Kratos pretty much finished the major ones off in the third installment. Ascension didn't let us do that even once. It was an interesting prequel but I think the story needed a little more explanation as going back and forth through time was kind of confusing, especially if you play it through multiple sittings. Throughout the game I thought Kratos remembered killing his family but I guess at the end it turned out that he didn't, so I was overall disappointed in how material was delivered to us. I think the prequel was overall unnecessary as I don't think it added much to the story. A better prequel would have been us playing as Kratos before ever becoming a servant to Ares, doing some of his bidding, and then go into what ascension was all about. The next God of War game I feel should be about other mythology, particularly Norse mythology. I think Greek is pretty much done unless they incorporate heroes such as Perseus and Thesius and such. Hercules was already in GoW III so I don't have high hopes for that plan. The dev team should make up a new hero along with different mythology to follow.

For me, the first wave was the toughest part. Second wave I used all my magic on Hades' ability. Third wave was so easy I don't even know why they included it.

I've got one semester of college left and I haven't ever had problems with gaming. I'm no engineering major or anything (business) so perhaps it's different. It's only 16 weeks of school. If you go two semesters a year, you're only in school for about 60% of the year. Even so it's not that bad. I find classes cover about 1-2 chapters per week. Just read the book, know all you need, go to class when necessary (you decide) and voila.

To add to the Steam discussion, I believe if you restart your computer it stops you from being able to play offline without first reconnecting. I could be wrong, so please correct me if so, but they do share many striking similarities. On Xone though I love how I can share my library with 10 people. Now we still don't know the limits of it yet, but from what Major Nelson has been saying, I can share with friends in other states, possibly even being able to play split screen together.

[QUOTE="ElectricEchoes"]

If I bought all my games first hand I wouldn't have three quarters of the games I own. That would be the case if this restriction was implemented across the board next gen. It's not the case of, oh I'll just go and buy new release today, I simply don't have the money to support this hobby to that extent.

Sadly that's just the way it is for these companies. Sony aren't restricting me of that privilege so I'm jumping ship, it's as simple as that.

Gorf_basic

Exactly!

It almost seems like basic microeconomics. If Johnny has only $100 to spend every 6 months on a game, he can either buy 5 games for $20 each or a new release at $60 and spend the remaining $40 on something else (2 older games?).

The common sense prediction would be that without a used game market the price of games will go up a lot and stay up for longer periods of time. Gamers are limited by the number of games they can buy with the budget they have. So the outcome would be less games played for the same amount of revenue.

And one only needs to compare the price of games on Steam to downloaded games on Xbox Live and PSN to see that (for whatever reason) games are a lot more expensive on the console.

You're talking about it from the perspective of the consumer. Microsoft and Sony don't get any money from used games sales, so why would they care about allowing people to play them? Sony sees you take your $100, go to Gamestop and buy 5 used games. None of that $100 goes to Sony. The whole thing about controlling game prices is just complete BS. MS and Sony know what gamers are willing to pay for a game and know that as demand dies down they need to cut prices to sell more. They don't need used games to drive down their prices. If anything I would argue that used game purchasers would never have purchased the game new and instead purchase it used from people who wouldn't have bought it new unless they were able to later sell it. Even so, I don't know how true that is.

Yes, just bring what's necessary to operate the system.

I think people are, in a sense, blowing it out of proportion. I think it's more akin to steam and needing to be connected to play. Steam does have their offline mode but you can't restart your computer once disconnected or it's useless. Microsoft first and foremost knows they're alienating particular people from purchasing this console. They know that not everyone has a constant internet connection and won't be able to purchase the console because of it. At the same time though, they realize that MANY people do. Many people are connected 24/7 because that's their way of life. Will they lose customers? Probably yes. Why is it that people think MS is unaware of this fact? Why do people believe that a multi-billion dollar corporation is unaware of their potential customer base? They very clearly are. The thing is, their customer base for the Xone is changing from that of the 360, and that's what current 360 gamers don't seem to understand. They are designing a console that is based off online features. The internet is what makes this console, so they want to serve people with internet; that's their market. They know the future of gaming is changing and they want to lead the way. Will their market share be as big as PS4's? At this point it seems like a "no" right? Even so, MS, knowing their customer base, knows their potential for income by making a console with a more specific audience than the 360's. It obviously makes them content so let them do their thing.

So I for one am getting the Xone before the PS4, but I was just thinking, what happens if for whatever reason you aren't connected to the internet and your 24 hour period is about to be up, but you're playing a single player game. You're in a boss battle and then the 24 hours hit, does your xbox just shut off and you start over; lose your save? What if it shuts off during a save? I'm rather sure this will be an extremely small, if not completely absent, problem, but I'm still interested.

I'm way more interested in the Xone. At least MS is committed to the kinect. It seems like Sony's never really given a shit about the eye. They need to seriously push that thing. Of course I'll have to pick up the PS4 though, whenever Uncharted and God of War come out. Losing exclusives like Kingdom Hearts and Metal Gear doesn't help though. No matter the console sales figures though I'm sure the Xone will do fine. People think MS doesn't know what they're doing when in actuality, they quite obviously know they're targeting a specific audience; those individuals who have a constant internet connection. They know there's a place for their console and I'm sure it will fair well for them.
