I'm in the same boat in that this is the first CoD game since CoD 4, when I started playing the series seriously, that I'm not picking up. With the new consoles it just seems like the right time to move on and find something new (likely Battlefield).

It doesn't really bother me that it doesn't change that much year on year. If the more casual gamers still love it just as much then Activision would be stupid not to keep going the way they are but I'm sure that even they know that at this rate they'll eventually drive the series into the ground just like they done with Guitar Hero.

I'm not one to judge those who buy it every year either. It's their money, they can do what they like with it. I'm kind of guilty of doing the same with the FIFA series if I'm being honest. However, the difference there is that EA don't really have any strong competition anymore with PES' decline this generation whereas CoD has countless other FPS games waiting to knock it off it's perch if no radical change from next year onward.

Depends on what you mean by "best". "Best" as in the most powerful or "best" as in the most fun to play?

I'll assume it's the latter but I've actually rarely found any one class to considerably better to use than the others throughout all three games. For each game I'd probably say:

ME1 - Solider - Once you are leveled up with a strong biotic, it quickly turns into easy mode.

ME2 - Sentinel - I absolutely loved playing as my femshep sentinel in ME2. Provides a great balance between biotics and gun play.

ME3 - Adept or Infiltrator - I love running adept with Liara as a squad mate. Singularity and biotic explosions for days. Infiltrator is great for insanity runs as the cloak gives to time to escape and heal. Although if you're good enough, you can probably breeze through with any class since ME3 is considerably easier than the previous two games.

@_Judas_: As I'm sure you know, goalkeepers tend to peak later on in their careers when compared to outfield players so there's still no reason why Hart can't get his game together and kick on to be up there with the top few guys. When you burst onto the scene as a youngster, maintaining a consistent level is undoubtedly one of the hardest challenges to face. Temperament probably just a big part as anything else when you already have the natural born ability.

I'm a big fan of Akinfeev and Ter-Stegen as well. Akinfeev in particular could've easily played at a top club in one of the top few leagues for years now had he chosen not to stay with CSKA. Thibault Courtois is another example, I've seen some people already call him one of the top few goalkeepers in Europe.

Windows 7, Firefox.

- I'll get emails about comment replies or likes, but when I load the article they're mysteriously missing.

- My OWN comments will be randomly gone too, and not because they got modded. Just gone. I can post a comment and refresh the page - gone. Come back in a day - gone.

- I'll click like on a comment, then refresh the page and the like will be gone. Other comment likes will fluctuate wildly. Sorting by "Top Comments" is completely unreliable.

- Comments nest improperly. You'll often see a reply ABOVE the comment that it was replying to.

Similar problems for me on Windows 7 and Chrome.

- Main problem I've noticed is comments and likes disappearing after a refresh that clearly haven't been modded in any way. This goes for comments and likes by anyone, not just me.

- Notifications not working either when I've been replied to or my comments have been liked.

- This might not be a bug as such but having a way to filter more email notifications would be nice. I would like to get an email if someone has replied to me but I don't need emails telling me that other people are leaving separate comments on a page that I've previously left one myself.

Other than that, I dig the new look. Much fresher and cleaner and the new video player is great. There was also going to be teething problems at the start so as long as they're sorted everything should be good.

He blows far too hot and cold IMO to be considered up there with the best in the world. Had he been from another country, I doubt the same hype would've surrounded him when he was younger and he wouldn't be held in such high regard (and conversely such little regard) by as many people.

He's not a bad keeper by any means but I can't say I've personally seen much improvement from him over the last two or three years since he continually makes the same type of mistakes over and over again. On the other hand, with De Gea I think there's been a noticeable improvement in his performances after a shaky start.

I actually agree with you in that Schmeichel maybe wasn't given a fair crack at the whip. Though, given everything that's happened at City over the last few years it likely would've been incredibly hard for him to make his mark anyway.

As for other young keepers, I'm really surprised and a little saddened by how Sergio Asenjo's career has panned out so far. He made the move to Atletico and was seemingly all set to become Spain's number one after Casillas, Valdes and the like had come towards the end of their international careers. But a few mistakes and some injuries ruined him and as it happens De Gea took his spot and was fantastic in his place. Now he's at one at the biggest clubs in the world while Asenjo is only playing for Villarreal.

Best: - Assassin's Creed 2 - Really did improve upon everything from AC1. - Mass Effect 2 - Might be less RPG-like but the better combat and story more than make up for that. - Portal 2 - A sequel to an arcade game that managed to be my GOTY for 2011. That speaks for itself. - Call of Duty 4 - Some won't agree but given the way most FPSs are now it (for better or worse) rewrote the FPS multiplayer rule book. - Uncharted 2/3 - Just got more awesome in about every conceivable way as the series went on. Worst: - GTA IV - Not necessarily a bad game but leaving out features that were so good in its previous gen counterparts took away from the experience. - MW2/3 - Barely any positive evolution from CoD4. Just games that are broken and exploited for the most part. - Batman: Arkham City - Haven't played Asylum but and isn't a horrifically bad game. Was just expecting so much more from it.

I couldn't really get into Skyrim all that much but it isn't a bad game by any means. I prefer Mass Effect personally but I need to get round to playing The Witcher and maybe even some JRPGs since so many people seem to go on about them all the time.

I can barely play MW3 for 4 minutes these days let alone 4 days so I have no idea how anyone could manage this.

Android here. I rarely pay for apps either unless they are something really useful or addicting. I'm looking at you New Star Soccer!

GTA IV. Barely played it after I finished the main story but soon after I traded it in all of my friends started playing together just generally messing about and having a laugh. Wasn't fun sitting in the party in relative silence when the other seven were almost crying with laughter. Other notable mentions: - Left 4 Dead - For similar reasons as above. - Far Cry 2 - Always got frustrated with the campaign when you would randomly get ambushed at checkpoints but I probably could have got used to it if I just persevered with it. - Fallout: New Vegas - Was so close to completing the story but for some reason decided to trade it in before I did.
