disaster ... naaah i doubt it. but i cannot say for sure since it's not even released yet. as for the graphics? gameplay for me is king ... it just enhances the experience and is it just me ... or from the looks of things nintendo isn't really affected even if they do not have hardcore games? they're still in pretty solid shape up to now.
I'll sell my PSP and my PS3. I'll buy a DS and get all those boring kid games

let me get this straight ... you do not own a DS because you think the unit is meant for kids ... like you (since you're 15). ok ok so maybe you're already a teen and feel macho for playing "video games" on a Sony branded console.
here are some facts ...
there is a total of 476 Early Childhood all the way up to Teen 13+ and only 39 Mature rated games in ESRB's website on their PSP games list. that makes the PSP approximately 92% kid friendly ... right? but do you see 90+ million DS users spam the boards with stuff like what I just mentioned? no ... you wanna know why? because the DS have too many games on offer, we do not have the time.
star wars: clone wars, zelda ph, secret files: tunguska, ninja gaiden ... the rest were already mentioned and those are the only games that i could think of right now
i agree with shogoh's post. with li-ion batt's ... charging more often helps prolong its life. that however isn't the case of the older ni-cad batt's though
I have a DS Lite ... and I'm still having second thoughts with the DSi. I'm probably gonna buy it if they release games that makes good use of the camera. otherwise, the extra features that was added is not enough reason for me to purchase the said console. heck, i have a 4yr old cellphone with better camera capabilities than what's included in the DSi.
