Odd that the vast majority of graphics threads on this board are created by Sony fans.

I would only have one console. I wouldn't have the time for more than that.
As for setting up a pc like a console - sure that can be done but I use my pc for many other things so I'd like to have my pc separate from my tv/console.
Now you mention 30fps, but I'm fully expecting the ps5 to offer 60fps - particularly at 1080p.
So the console exclusive point is moot when you can't play all of them either.
I never said I set up my PC like a console, only that it is plugged in to the living room TV as well as my monitor. It's a simple matter of selecting which screen I want to use at any given time. All it needed was a long HDMI cable, some people prefer to use a streaming box like Steam Link but a cable was not an issue for me.
That's nice 1080p @ 60fps in 2020, cutting edge tech right there. Meanwhile I'm playing all my games at 1440p and well over 60fps, usually 80 to 100 fps, depending on the game and the performance I want from it. The living room TV is 4k and with some reduction in settings (still higher than consoles can do) I can get 60 fps as well.
You do you but there is no need to pretend that a console can compete with a high end PC in any aspect.
Console advantage:
cheap entry point
sit back from a distance from screen with better controllers
exclusives
much less bs in online play
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also the tech. differentiation is becoming meaningless.
4k / 60 fps = who cares?
What year are you living in?
Cheaper entry point, yes, if you only have one console. You also only get what you pay for
Sit back from a distance, Do you think that PC's can't be connected to a TV? Do you think that controllers don't work on PC's or that Lapboards don't exist? This is not a console only thing
Exclusives that you need to buy at least 2 consoles to play, there goes the "cheaper entry point" if you want to play them all. Of course that's completely ignoring the multitude of PC exclusive games.
Thinking the tech differentiation is becoming meaningless only shows that you've probably only ever played games at 30fps, which if true is sad and I feel sorry for you.
Here's the one of the "best" looking games consoles had to offer at the start of this gen
God that game makes me feel like my eyes are completely screwed
Compared to one of the best looking exclusive games on PC today (although playable, this isn't even finished)
Got the Uncharted collection with my PS4
Played Uncharted, thought it was OK, couldn't work out why it's so revered
Played Uncharted 2, actually I forced myself through it, really not impressed
Started playing Uncharted 3, stopped after about 3 hours and never went back to it.
The Division 2, got to min/max those stats and push the highest DPS I can manage ;) More likely though is run around aimlessly, while having a laugh with some mates.
@son-goku7523: They are planning the Squadron 42 Evocati Beta for early next year, Honestly, I think we can dispense with the "early development" part, don't you?
Star Citizen =! Squadron 42, they are two different games in the same universe.
Squadron 42 may be releasing a beta soon but Star Citizen itself is still along way from being complete.
Dude, I'm a golden ticket original backer, I've been behind this game since before most people were even aware of it's existence, I know the difference. However, Squadron 42 relies on almost all of the game assets needed for Star Citizen, it's safe to say that Star Citizen is in development but calling it "early" is pretty asinine.
Sure Star Citizen needs all of the online and net work systems (tha majority of which are done and in game already, just needing tweaked), not to mention many years of content creation but it's far from being in early development. We're about a year out from persistence and multiple solar systems (4.0 was the original planned persistence patch) after that Star Citizen will move in to a fairly long "beta" phase to add in depth content.

@SolidGame_basic: Let little ol DaVillain educate you something since you have a PC right?
These days, AAA just means high budget. If you had a high budget for your game, would you only keep it on PC? I wouldn't. That would just be dumb. I'd release it on every platform I could. The only reason any AAA game is exclusive is because MS/Sony/Nintendo pays a lot of money to have those games exclusive to their systems but at least MS now gets it and share their games on PC, which by the way, they get high praise for doing this. PC doesn't have such a company backing them, unless you consider MS whom is in control of the Xbox as well.
I personally don't understand why they have to have AAA exclusives. Exclusives are bad for the consumers. It just means you don't get to play something unless you own all systems. Why would anyone want that? Oh, wait...that's right. It's because you want to gloat at the other system owners that they don't have such and such game.
All very true but I am looking forward to Total War: Three Kingdoms next month and Mechwarrior 5 in September.
@DocSanchez: Consumers do not "own" any game that they buy because they are not buying the game, they are buying a license to use the software and that can be revoked by the IP holder if it's set out in the EULA. When you click past the EULA you have agreed to all the terms and conditions set out within it, whether you read it or not. That's not in anyway restricted to online purchases either, physical copies come with the exact same terms of use as digital.
Personally I've never read a Sony EULA contract but I imagine that they could also stop you using their O/S, should they wish to. How they'd do that I don't know, especially if you don't connect a console to the internet, but it's probably in there somewhere.
Wasn't the initial budget of SW: The Old Republic like 600 million dollars? Tough to imagine any game being that expensive.
The development budget of SW: TOR was ~$200 million, the marketing budget was estimated to around the same again, although I don't think the actual numbers have ever been published. Until Star Citizen passed it (now at $223 Million) it was the game with the highest ever development budget.
