I hope it doesn't flop because from what I can tell ( game footage compilation) it does seem to offer a simply unique multiplayer experience that wanders off from the typical formula. The water physics are absolutely amazing and lastly, for the sake of Rare I hope it will be a hit. I don't think most of the commonwealth will "get it" though. Probably abysmal sales. Also Microsoft hasn't exactly been on fire lately.
Getting Rugrats for my Nintendo 64 as a kid as a christmas gift. I expected it to be like Mario Party. The worst part is I got to chose one game, and I chose that.
And I certainly don't see the casual market flocking to kickstarter to fund the games they want. They just buy whatever crap has a cute commercial or an appealing cover image.TimstuffYeah, good point. In my opinion one of the best mixtures is Steam. It's very much dedicated to the core PC audience. It's making Valve loads of money. I think Microsoft and Sony is at least closer to a balance, Nintendo is putting their long time franchise supports in the backseat and expect them to tag along through whatever bumpy ride they might take them on.
[QUOTE="Michael0134567"]I second this. The casual market picks up a game every once in a while and is fairly uneducated about the industry. The hardcore is very well oriented, spends a lot of funds to support developers and such. Spending some time on Angry Birds or CityVille every once in a while on the bus isn't the same as grinding through Inferno in Diablo 3. carrying in Dota 2 etc. That's like saying that the movie market is one and the same. The term casual is basically applied to a certain demographic.I hate the terms "casual" and "hardcore".

People who think that Zelda was always a casual franchise needs to actually go back and play the pre Twilight Princess games. Child friendly isn't the same as casual.
If this stuff is true about Miyamoto wanting to ease things up even more, i'm done with the franchise. I have been playing it since the Snes days and they've completely abandoned their older demographics. I have no idea what market Nintendo is planning to cater to since the very reason software sales were so low last gen was because of this reason alone. They simply aren't caring enough about the fanbase that supports full on releases
