Some of it is a little silly, but the reason it feels like it is being shoe-horned in is because racism/sexism is a REAL problem in mass media. And now modern directors/producers and media companies are trying to solve the problem.
First off, I have a Master's Degree in Mass Media, I've written research papers on the subject and I have worked in Mass Media for over 6 years. So it's not just me making this shit up.
Look up some older films, like the original Star Wars. Not once in the movie do two female characters talk to each other. And the rest of the movie is dominated by White males. And movies even today have this problem.
We are a diverse society, and our movies and media should reflect that. And if you have a problem with more diverse movies and media you need to ask yourself why you have a problem with it.
Might be some closeted bigotry.
you can say shit on gamespot now? Wow
