[QUOTE="Josh_345"]First Sony thought they could take the handheld thrown from Nintendo and dominate video games... but Nintendo held on and wiped the PSP, and now they just took 6 punches on the PS3 and now there trying to jump on the 360's back and push it down. So who thinks Nintendo won the video game war? Nintendo=One amazing company Nintendo=Is still alive, while Sega is just bones and no flesh. Nintendo=Lasting for over 100 yrs.

 They are definitely laughing all the way to the bank! All they needed to do was come up with a cool piece of hardware and a couple of modified GameCube games and they had a hit! Too bad all the people that bought the thing are now twiddling their thumbs waiting for the next real game to arrive. If you like a bunch of PS2 ports and shovelware then I guess the Wii is the best choice right now. ;)

[QUOTE="Nintendo_Ownes7"][QUOTE="Hoffgod"]Has a game drought? It just got Sonic (which I just picked up and it's great), SSX, is getting Tiger Woods this week, and has at least one game per month from April to June that I want, which is fine. On average I only pick up one full price game a month. If that's your definition of a drought, or you consider that to be ownage on me, so be it. Me? I'll just enjoy the games.Hoffgod
If that is a drought it doesn't effect me because all my consoles collect dust even if there isn't a drought because I only buy videogames 4 times a year, Easter, Mid-Summer, My Birthday, and Christmas, so Droughts don't effect me.

Exactly. Droughts are relative, based on personal tastes and buying habits. So as long as games are coming out, there's not a real drought, though there may be a lack of games you're interested. Perhaps too deep for some here to understand (*cough*iceburg*cough*shorty*cough**cough*), but still something to be considered.

I think most of us are not counting all the SHOVELWARE for the Wii that many have been listing as a counter to the facts.

Because life is difficult enough. Your game system shouldn't have to be.

 That was good! Seriously though...If Apple did decide to make a video game system, the big three would have great cause to be VERY nervous. ;)

I say a drought is a time period  that a game does not get higher 8.0(XBLA or VC games dont count)

Agreed?poopinloop32
A drought is a substantial period of time in which nothing of note is released for a given system. Nintendo is the KING of the game drought. They have been since the N64. Looks like they will continue to hold the crown this time around with the Wii. How anyone could get by with only a Nintendo system has always amazed me.

Why would someone pay $600 for a PS3?  There are only a couple of good games out right now.  Is it just the potential the PS3 has, or is it because the PLAYSTATION brand is well known?  I would get a PS3 if I had the money, but I just can't see why people would pay $600 for a console.Zeph_Da_Bomb
I am as mystified as you are, although if you look at all the PS3s sitting on shelves from coast to coast, it appears that we are in the majority on this one! ;)

NO ONE, and I do mean NO ONE droughts like Nintendo! I knew this was going to happen based on the dismal amount of AAA games on the GameCube in the first two years. I was hoping the Wii would fair better, but I wanted to sit back and wait to see if that was the case. Glad I did! Really no point in owning a Wii yet. Maybe next year?

I'm curious what you all think, that's all.DA_B0MB
I thought Jeff's review of Zelda TP was the only HONEST review of that game on the entire web! After playing it, I agree with his score. The GS guys review games based on their quality and not so much on their popularity and don't CAVE to the demands of their often fanboyish readership.

New York Times knows absolutely nothing about video games. THey think that just by finding the oldest possible games that somehow makes them important.KeyWii

drought... I thought there was a flood of horribly rushed ports... can't you flamers make up your mind...?GundamGuy0
 Game droughts and Nintendo go together like Mario and Luigi! ;) One of the reasons I have no desire to hunt down a Wii this year is because once you have one, within a few months it will be gathering dust, just like my launch day GameCube over there did. (Collecting dust was my GCs most active occupation since I bought it) I am waiting for a price drop and at least 5 AAA games for the system, which at this rate probably won't happen until at least mid 2008.
