@GoldenGun @Funkyhamster That makes sense, but wouldn't running a software emulator on the console make more sense than streaming? It's future-proof, in that they could just write a new emulator if they change the hardware. Also, it would run without latency, and it would eliminate the need for all that streaming bandwidth.
I'm assuming the servers they stream from will be using software emulation as well, so it seems like there's very little purpose to streaming the games to the PS4 instead of just running them right there.
Why would they want to use Gaikai streaming for playing old Playstation games? I thought the whole point of streaming games is to allow playing graphically intensive games on weak hardware... there's no advantage to streaming when you're playing old games on modern hardware that could run it fine anyways.
KBABZ - Microsoft has always lost money on 360 consoles, the same way Sony has always lost money on PS3 consoles. Developers usually sell consoles at a loss and recoup the money with game sales and licensing fees.
Wow, this summary is kinda lacking in the MGS2 story department... what about at least GW and Arsenal Gear? The themes they present about information control are a huge part of MGS2's overall message, and they're also important to MGS4.
