So why is anybody surprised that this is happening, I mean we are talking about a country where people still burn books on a regular basis, and while I do support the idea of family and community spending more time together I think this is the wrong way to go about it. I mean I've been deeply immersed in Far Cry 3 for weeks now, but I still read to my son, spend time with my wife and enjoy structured activity's together, although we are thinking of going on Safari this year.
Right the thing to do know is start letting Sony know that not releasing this world wide, would be as damaging as not releasing Demons Souls........ Not to say incredibly harmful to Vita sales. I'm not saying this game is going to be a game changer for the Vita, but it could be!
Personally I think there is a chance that the game could come out on this date. Historically Sony has put out an exclusive at this time. Although those were both the Infamous Games. Still it has proved a lucrative release date for exclusives and cross platform games.
I think the issue is making games that people want to hang on to. I used to buy, play and trade once a week back in 2009. Although since then I have started keeping the ones I like, and rather than just buying a new game for the sake of it I will revisit it, pick up a few more trophy's and wait for a release I do want. The thing is how does me not buying games help the games industry. It does come across like they want you to buy as many games as possible, and then not be able to do what you want with the game that you own. Selling something that you own is not a crime.
I agree with this article and think that publishers are biting the hand that feeds. For example why not introduce advertising banners while playing online, or even during loading times. Sure I wouldn't be happy about it, but if it meant free updates, and no online pass I would be happy. The online pass, and DLC puts me off to be honest as I prefer single player story games, and this is driving me away from utilising the full scope of the games I buy.
I know it depends on the retailer, but if I pre-order from Amazon, I don't actually pay any money till it ships. I can then cancel if I change my mind, or the reviews don't come up to scratch. All they do is put an order on my account that at some time they intend to take this money, so I could happily pre-order what I want and pick and choose as it gets closer to the time of release.
Well I played this on Console and thought it was very well done, and much better than Killzone 3(yes I'm a console kid) and while the game may have been dummed down, it was in a reality a big advert for the engine. I feel that it served that purpose very well, and will be excited about games using Cry3. Crytek may build the games, but EA holds the purse strings!
Nefarious from Ratchet and Clank! A fine super villain who should get his own game. Also Captain Qwark from the same series. Any of the boss's from Demons Souls. Although I think you need to attribute the lack of super villain with the increase of video game protagonists with high levels of moral ambiguity.
I really enjoyed this article and I think it raises some interesting points. Why would a company make a game first and then come up with a story to hold it together? This dosn't happen in the film industry(although sometimes it feels like it) I predict that the scripwriter will become more important over the next few years, as games players mature so must the industry.
